Good to see him giving England a chance, hopefully he prefers the experience to Scotland. Soccerway has it as Watford.
The other goal was an own goal Beadle, Norton-Cuffy, Chrisene, Awe, Katongo, Nelson, Gordon, Braybrooke, Hackford, Scarlett, Thomas Subs, all on: Lewis, Clarke, Small, Lindo, Pennant, Olakigbe, Emmerson, Knightbridge.
Really think this kid could be a special talent, but isn't Everton quite a good club to be coming through at? I'm not sure why he'd be in a rush to leave.
No news of any players selected for the U17’s? Apparently playing Northern Ireland and presumably Wales next week.
What's the reason for so many coaches having recently left? Is it financial, simply career progression or is there something more going on?
Money will be better but career progression is fine, and how it should work. Cochrane's had 3/4 years with the FA across three age groups and is very highly rated so he takes a step back into the club game and will still be able to impact on young English footballers in other ways, and another up and coming talented coach will get a chance to move into an FA position.
It's also not really surprising that someone who goes up for an internal promotion and narrowly misses out might look for other ways to progress.
How many post are currently vacant now within the set up? U21’s ( soon to be Carsley ), U20’s? U17’s?
16s is vacant after Rob Edwards went to Forest Green, Tom Curtis took the 15s last week but dunno if the gig is his full-time.
Probably doesn't help they have had nothing to do bar the odd training camp the last year and a half, and no sign of that changing anytime soon.
Of course they'd want him, Dan Micciche is taking over as U18 manager and clearly has a growing influence there, and he has a strong relationship with Betsy. He'd be a great appointment for any club.
If Betsy leaves then I don’t think we have any managers for any of our development teams other than maybe U15’s I guess it’s not really a problem at the moment but the FA have to be appointing new candidates as soon as possible. Just out of interest, has Carlsey been confirmed as the new U21 manager because I don’t think I’ve seen anything official from the FA?
Whether or not it's a problem in itself, could it be symptomatic of a problem? For one or two to leave in a given summer seems pretty standard in that kind of role, but for so many to move on at once... you have to wonder if there's a reason why.
Yeah, this seems pretty unprecedented as can’t recall a similar situation before like this. When I say it’s not really a problem at the moment, I just meant that we are out of season so have some time to appoint new managers but we need to act swiftly but yeah agree with your general point. Maybe Southgate is trying to implement his pragmatic style of play in the development teams and the new modern coaches have had enough
