And from what I understand they've now cancelled it completely. That would've always been a pity but particularly as this 2003 bunch are particularly rated.
A really good long read on Harvey Elliott here https://theathletic.com/1841705/2020/05/31/harvey-elliott-liverpool-real-madrid-fulham-klopp/
I don't know much about him either way but, after a season where there were two or three spots of negative press, it comes across as Liverpool trying to redress the balance and give him some positive press.
Yep, a little bit of a puff piece, but the opportunities he's already been given seem to indicate that he is a good egg as young players don't get many chances in these big club environments if they aren't doing it in all areas, especially those on long term deals that aren't going anywhere.
Amadou Diallo out for a long period with an ACL injury. Real shame, would've been pushing towards a first-team debut this season.
Looks like Scotland U17 (2004 born) will also be playing England at SGP. Just the one game with an 11:30 kick off on the morning of 10th October. The FA did not mention it so don't think there'll be a squad announcement or match report from them.
Soonsup-Bell Sonny Perkins Silko Thomas Zach Awe Brooke Norton-Cuffy Toby Collyer Dane Scarlett Alfie Devine Jordan Hackett Junior Robinson Charlie Setford Lee Jonas Luke Chambers Omari Forson Think that's what we know so far, some obvious ones missing but who knows
Not forgetting Webster! Gyabi often captained this team so would expect him to be in. Perhaps Tmaxi could visit the forum again and explain the continued International absence of Shola Shoretire.
Heard Shola not involved because his dad wanted him playing a year up with the 2003’s, but England not obliging. Absolute madness if you think you can dictate to england on playing up haha. Also I think he’s said on here before that he thinks sholas development drops when he’s away with england 04’s.
Everton have two players involved in the squad for Saturday apparently, goalkeeper Jak Stewart and left back Thierry Small . Small is a pacy, highly skilful attacking left back , scored a couple of goals in their u18s 2-3 win at Burnley last Saturday and is a real box of tricks. I seem to remember he’s featured previously at u15/16.
From my experience England only obliges with moving players up if the kids are involved in playing with the clubs first team on at least semi-regular basis, there's really no argument to be made for moving someone up based on academy performances alone. Shoretire hasn't even shone THAT bright for Uniteds u18's compared to his agemates.
