Ok, so is 15 the required age? For instance, he can’t get called up as a 14 year old to play for senior team?
Not sure, he turns 15 at the end of the month but I'd bet, discounting injury, he'll make his senior debut at 15.
Getting either Germany or Netherlands from Pot3 would make it a particularly difficult task to qualify, especially now it is an 8 team tournament and you must top your qualifying group to progress.
Fulham and Stockport are interested in 16-year-old English midfielder Gabriel Schluter, who has impressed for Blackpool's academy sides. (Football Insider), external
Actually Max Dowman is not eligible for the PL at the moment unless he is added to the list of registered U21 players during the January transfer window. He is not currently on it. https://www.premierleague.com/news/4110099
https://www.premierleague.com/news/2786707 Ethan Nwaneri wasn't on the squad list when he made his debut in September 2022, if you are U16 you'll never be on there as won't have started a scholarship
Don't think U21s need to be added to the squad list for the Prem. They do for List B for UEFA but that requires you to be at least 16.
Why hasn't Godwill Kukonki been called up to any England U17 squads?? And will he be called up for the next one?
The answer to both questions on both your posts is don’t know and don’t know. Has Fitzgerald been injured?
Well I think the issues is that no one knows how the selection policy works, we’ve asked ourselves for years why player (x) has never been included. I guess you can say Matt O’Riley as a study case but was continually left out and there’s been plenty of others I’m sure. I guess we will have to wait and see until the next squad.
Regarding Kukonki, I did ask on here if he's ever been involved at any level with England, including camps that don't result in official games or caps etc. No one on here knew of any involvement. It may be that England don't believe he's good enough or as Marcho says, he has been unfairly overlooked. No one on here can know. It could be a case of him getting a media profile beyond his ability as a footballer. He trained with the United first team over the international break. If this happened at Leicester no one would bat an eyelid but because it's United it makes national news. It doesn't necessarily mean that he's a top prospect.
Some players are overlooked. Jarrod Bowen wasn't involved with England at youth level, as one example.
He’s only 16, it’s not exactly been a sustained period yet! The current crop of 2008 CBs have done pretty well, maybe he’ll probably get a look in next year.
Not sure. I always thought he was destined for Wales but despite having a very Welsh name and growing up on the English side of the Welsh border he only qualifies for England.
1866076245915541665 is not a valid tweet id From looking at him here, I don’t think he particularly looks over his age at all but hey, could be wrong.
Dowman wasn't involved with Arsenal u21s on Monday but was training with Arsenal's first team it appears. Could he be involved tonight?
Would be mental. Surely he'd be the youngest ever player to make a matchday squad in professional football in England?
