Does anyone know why going abroad and paying compensation for a player is cheaper than if a player is moving to another club in the same country?

Jun'ai Byfield has been a real stand out for Spurs u18s in the PL Next Generation Cup, they play in the final against Stellenbosch FC from South Africa today at 3.45 (live on the PL YouTube channel) who are ostensibly playing a U21 team.

Don't think he's had a call up before but Tynan Thompson from Spurs looks very promising. Imagine he'll be starting for Spurs u18s this season.

This suggests Igor Tyjon is potentially back with England for these games.

You called it. Born in Caracas and moved to England as a 10 year old apparently so lived longer in South America. I assume he completed his five years of education here but that doesn't always mean a player can immediately play competitive youth fixtures even if he'd been willing.

Not sure who they'll pick for striker now as Harry Gray is currently injured.

Has the confederation allocation been announced? I'm wondering how that will tie in with UEFA reducing their tournament to eight teams.

Tyjon is back in the squad after being with Poland last time.

Chizzy Ezenwata gets a first call-up, he's really good.

No Ngumoha either, although that could be to do with his transfer.

Ngumoha's been stuck in the 5 step process for his move to Liverpool so he's only had individual training away from teams for about 2 months, not helpful for a call-up right now I guess.

Israel are no longer participating in the tournament, so we'll just be playing Mexico & Germany.

Won this one 5-0. No idea about goalscorers or the lineup though.
