Looks like they're playing an in-house match today. In other news it appears Birmingham's Calum Scanlon is joining Liverpool.
White beat Blue 4-3 having been 3-0 down. Sousa and Bloxham scored one apiece for the blue team, Griffiths one for the white. White 13 Grant 2 Davidson 4 Bauress 5 Jackson 7 McGrath 10 Griffiths Blue 3 Moloney 4 Stanton 6 Sousa 7 Bloxham GKs (dunno about teams) 1 Reid
Emre Tezgel (Stoke) scored twice for Whites. So just one Blue scorer missing, as well as the rest of the squad of course.
Nathan Giblin was 3 for the whites. 13 Grant 2 Davidson 3 Giblin 4 Bauress 5 Jackson 6 7 McGrath 8 9 Tezgel 10 Griffiths 11
Is that now official? Remember seeing him posing in the United kit but someone at Barnsley said he was still at the club. Seems likely to happen though.
You got to imagine with that picture coming out that even if there are 1 or 2 minor hiccups United will make sure it gets done.
I know it’s early to ask this but it’s more about curiosity to be honest as I saw a scout mention on Twitter that our 2005 are not as strong as Germany 2005’s so I just wondered if anyone has any idea of the potential for this year group or maybe not as talented as previous years? I personally thought it’s a massive claim to make at such an early stage of their development but that’s just my opinion.
I think you can start to form opinions about a cohort of 15-16 year olds. They won't all stand up in a few years, but I can certainly remember hearing comments about the strength of our 2000s and 2003s before I knew a single thing about most of the players. They weren't wrong.
Yes, that’s true, I had heard of quite a few from those age groups, where I haven’t heard of that many from this age group with due respect so far but could that be due to lack of football over the past year due to Covid? I’m not sure how many games these kids have been involved with over the past year so maybe a lack of exposure?
Ye as CS said, we were definitely talking about the 00s when they were 15-16s and there were quite a few quotes from coaches of different national sides, I'm thinking the Dutch coach for one who spoke about the level of our players, so I think you can start to have an understanding there. I don't know about other club's but I think Spurs have a strong 05 contingent. I have said that our 04/05 look like our next best bunch after the 99/00 lot. I've seen Bloxham, Dorrington, Gunter, Donley, Piesold, Cooper and Black to name a few look good. I think the first 4 of those probably stand the best chance of being regulars in the England squad, so just depends on what the talent is like in other clubs
In fairness we also thought that the 97's were going to be top class, and that Roberts and Crowley would play for England one day.
England has done pretty well out of the 1997 group overall even if subsequent age groups have been better and some of the individual standouts from U17-U20 aren't the ones impressing in the senior game.
Darryl Ombang (Bradford) The date on his invitation is different to the one that I saw on others so I'm not sure if this is a GK camp, a different one entirely, or they've changed the date.
