Doesn't really matter that Foden was playing Wycombe. First match is Andorra, and Wycombe are a step up from them.
Sancho would probably be the most worried about his place based on form, although he looked to pick it up a bit in the League Cup.

I hope Greenwood is in. Toney as a long shot perhaps and Ings might still be considered as well.

Toney is worth a look. Greenwood has to be in. Abraham too.

Other than this season and a couple of sub appearances for Newcastle, Toney's only played one season above League One. Let's see how he goes over the next six months.
Forgot about Ings. He's probably our best pure finisher other than Kane.

Against a league one side. That doesn't show elite level match fitness and form.

And, traditionally, we don't deliberately call up weakened squads because the opposition is a bit cack. Might as well call up and cap tie all the U21 squad if we do though.

Let’s see how much he plays tomorrow and midweek against PSG to determine if he weakens our Squad. Things must have improved clearly if we are even suggesting that someone like Foden weakens our Squad though.

And most of the Hungary team would be Championship level at best.

Sounds to me like Greenwood isn’t over that whole Iceland episode and probably left a nasty scar for him emotionally to deal with.

Foden and grealish both start. Be interesting to see their linkup play as they are both playing down the left

Foden is actually on the right

Jesus has mainly been used wide this season. I wouldn't be surprised if Foden's playing as a false 9.

Worrying from an England point of view. James looks injured for Chelsea. Shaw has gone down for man utd. Interesting that Southgate is at old Trafford. Maybe to watch Greenwood?

Shaw james off injured. No pickford or stones possibly. So are we looking at Pope walker maguire chilwell tomori/mings possibly. We should be able to beat Hungary and Andorra without them

Heavens forbid if Shaw gets injured because we all know what that means? Trippier at left back giving us that wonderful team balance that Southgate loves to give us and he will do it against Andorra

Then we could see a call up for awb if he sees trippier as a leftback. He usually picks 4 rightbacks. How many weeks till we play Hungary

If Shaw is injured and obviously Southgate won’t pick Chillwell with his lack of game time and mental fatigue after his Euro heartache, we could do a lot worse than call in Cresswell or Targett for the next set of games. Even though not top notch but would be better than playing a right back at left back against Andorra anyway.

Pickford is back today for Everton.
    Maguire also subbed off though.

Yeah, you know Southgate loves to play him at left back especially if Shaw is out injured

That’s not a dig at Trippier fwiw, great right back but just makes us unbalanced when he plays left back.

Not his best position imo as a false nine but I think Foden did fine today to prove his fitness, midfield is still his best position and the one he will end up playing so I would have thought he would be a definite pick for the next Squad.
