Lampard could be in trouble if this continues.

He’s making the best of it but Foden at City is Foden in a creative straitjacket.

How far off is maddison compared to grealish. Because they're both class players. With foden in there as well. Its going to be tough for southgate to decide who to take to the euros. Personally I would take all 3. Maybe leave one of rice Henderson or philips behind

I wouldn’t start Rice and Henderson in the same team but they should both be in the squad.

A bit daft to even pretend that Maddison is competing for their place.

Not saying that but bring in more attacking creative players rather than 3 holding players. Thats where we struggled at the world Cup. Not enough creativity

I think he is a goner. Shame we don't often get to see English managers at a club of that level. It could be a while before we next see it.

I don't know why Chelsea couldn't have left him alone to learn at Derby for a couple of seasons. It was too soon for him.

He is talented but I'm not sure about his style of holding up the ball working in the EPL. Grealish and Sterling for example are not given enough credit for being direct.

Cheers for this random image which has absolutely nothing to do with any of the above conversations?

The thing with Lampard is he seems randomly drop players/change the team for no real reason every other game. Btw what ever happened Tomori.

Jordan Henderson starting at centre-back for Liverpool today. Didn't expect that one.

Stones looks the most likely of those not regularly involved recently to force his way in to the squad. It's a position we lack depth at, he got experience at the highest level, and he's playing as well as he ever has.

This would be my Euro 2021 squad:

    Pickford
    Pope
    Henderson
    Chilwell
    Saka
    James
    TAA
    Maguire
    Dier
    Stones
    Coady
    Walker
    Rice
    Phillips
    Winks
    Henderson
    Mount
    Foden
    Grealish
    Sterling
    Rashford
    Kane
    DCL

Mings, Trippier, Ward-Prowse, Maddison, Sancho, Ings candidates for standby.

Sancho on standby? Probably only one of a handful truly world class creative players we have. No way will southgate leave him out and rightly so. I would leave out either coady or stones

You’d go with only three bona fide central defenders?

I would argue that Sancho is behind Sterling and Rashford in experience, Foden and Grealish in ability and Saka in versatility.

I would class walker as a centre back for England. Walker stones maguire gomez. I would also class sancho higher right now than foden or grealish for talent

Definitely disagree with you on that one! Haha

Thought it might be controversial to suggest leaving out Sancho but we’re at a stage where a big name player has to miss out.

I didn’t include Gomez because I thought he’d be out injured?

Possibly. But sancho is only going to get better. I would rather leave out a defensive player than drop sancho

It's a dream, surely - we've lots of exciting options - I'm almost 40 now and this is the best for attacking players I can remember.

If you were Southgate & Holland imagine the daily chat they have and the topics they cover.

Sancho is he better than Grealish?

Foden better than both of them?

Mount or Maddison & Barkley vs Jones

Henderson vs Rice vs Phillips vs Winks

Hudson Odoi vs McNeil, Smith Rowe vs Elliott

Sterling and Rashford or Grealish and Foden?

    Who's got the most goals?

    Who makes the most goals?

Is Saka the best left footer we have?

How old are the lads in Germany now?

Or equally Southgate probably turns to Holland and says, love all these attacking players but you know what, let’s play 7 defensive minded players instead and restrict our biggest threats creating chances and scoring goals!
