This makes no sense at all.

 

It makes no sense for Rogers in the short term, but Rogers - striker - Palmer for Alonso's front 3 in a 3-4-3 makes a lot of sense I think. I don't take much notice of the numbers any more.

 

Chelsea will need to make CL next season for this to be worth it surely.

 

I know Premier League transfer fees are high but that's a lot of money for Morgan Rogers.

Understand Chelsea pitched to Morgan Rogers as a left-wing starter. Rogers equally comfortable and impressive as a number ten, and his versatility part of the appeal to Chelsea, but told he is joining under the impression he'll play on the left, and alongside Cole Palmer.

It’s a crazy transfer fee really but with the sell for Middlesbrough it’s probably in reality something like 95 mil for Villa. With a 20% sell on, it was always going to be a high value, even though it’s still a lot.

 

Blimey, so Anderson and Rogers going for c. £120m in the same summer. England must have the record of £100m+ footballers now (Grealish, Rice, Anderson, Rogers). Kane and Bellingham must have been very close to £100m too, their prices look cheap now.

I wonder whether Villa will go after Morgan Gibbs White, he'd be a great replacement for Rogers although probably would go for an astronomical fee too.

 

Too much for Rogers IMHO. The money in the PL is insane, including salaries.
