Not me, that's for sure. Maybe it can be argued he's a good fella to be around the less experienced guys but that's another slot not available for those same guys.

Not quite sure which thread to put this but will add it here as to not derail the other threads. What are your thoughts on this? How many Scotland players would get into England's current squad? 🤔🏴Do you agree with @robsnodgrass7 ? 👀👇In association with @skrill pic.twitter.com/nZo62ULXjW— WhoScored (@WhoScored) June 19, 2026 I’m not sure I would have any of his selections starting, maybe squad places like McGinn and McTomminay. Ben Doak though, I mean he’s would be a good option for the U21’s.
It's hard to agree a lot of this when you look at the players who've missed out on the England squad. We'd have to look at it through the lens of the current system too. Who would McGinn or McTominay replace? I like both players but they'd probably have to replace Mainoo and Rogers. I don't think McGinn or McTominay add anything at all to what Bellingham & Rice do. Someone like Mainoo is an alternative profile (who's also better than both McGinn & McTominay), even if he might not suit Tuchel's system. Andy Robertson in 2026 would not make the squad. Three years ago for sure but not now. Doak is an interesting prospect who has good potential but he's not better than Madueke - at least not yet anyway.
He cannot even he bothered to get O'Reillys name right. Robertson ? He's a poor man's Luke Shaw This is just overrating their players. McTominay is the only one i can see but who do you drop ? Yes. I know. Henderson.
If England midfielder Elliot Anderson, 23, joins Manchester City it could spark a domino effect, with Nottingham Forest signing 26-year-old Italy midfielder Davide Frattesi from Inter Milan, who in turn will look to complete a deal for Liverpool’s England midfielder Curtis Jones, 25. (Gazzetta dello Sport - in Italian), external
McGinn would be the closest for me, but I think we've left better midfielders than him at home. He should have been asked who McGinn, McTomminay and Gannon-Doak would replace in the England squad.

Honestly none. A few years back Robertson for sure but hall is already better. McTominay is a poor man's Gibbs-White. Gilmour a few years back but Anderson and Wharton and even Scott are better. Hickey looks decent. Mcginn is just a fat gremlin who runs funny
Now you've got me started. Scotland have got an ism. A welshism. They're qualify for a few tournaments and all of a sudden they think they're better than they are.
Most of which they’ve crept through the back door, I might add. It’s almost become more difficult not to qualify for a tournament these days. Fair play to them but they make steve Clarke out to be some sort of miracle worker, when in reality, he’s one of the worst coaches they’ve ever had. He’s just been in the right place at the right time.
