I don't know what TalkSport sources are but every ITK journalist I've seen seems to think they want to get both deals done.

 

I can imagine Gordon or rashford being brought in as a backup striker

Liverpool do not want to lose Curtis Jones but will reluctantly sanction a sale if he asks for a move and a suitable offer is on the table.

The 25-year-old is valued at around £35million. Inter have shown the most interest so far.

but city have a much better team than Utd and he would be potentially challenging

Sancho might be the player I'm the most disappointed with about not fulfilling his potential.

 

Dortmund is his most likely destination according to reports. Probably the best move for him given it's a more attacker friendly and easier league. Dortmund have recent form for re-signing players they sold to bigger clubs after they flopped. Kagawa, Sahin and Gotze all followed the same path but subsequently failed to get close to the form that got them their big move in the first place.

 

Back to his comfort zone at Dortmund! hopefully now he's off his bumper contract at United he actually buckles down. Would probably prefer him to go elsewhere.

 

Where though? Germany has the right mix of decent wages and an attacker friendly environment. Maybe Spain for Atletico or something?

 

Sancho on a free is the kind of deal I think a lot of clubs would be interested in. If not for the Gordon deal it's the kind of thing you might have even seen Barcelona going for.

It’s easier to stand out at a club whose opposition are coming out and attacking, leaving space to move into

its going to be interesting to see just how good he is at a top club playing vs low blocks and horrible negative counter attacking style

English footballers are way too overpriced. £120 million for Anderson. €80 million (plus add-ons) for Anthony Gordon. Palace want £100 million for Wharton.

 

It's as much a Premier League thing as an English thing. Same as West Ham demanding £85m for Fernandes, Liverpool paying £125m for Isak etc.

The vast majority of clubs are so wealthy they just don't need to sell and can't be bullied by bigger clubs anymore. They can basically demand whatever they want for their players.

A situation where a relegated club could afford to turn down £70m for a player is just obscene. It's wild that we've got here and it's making the Premier League transfer market unworkable.

With English players clubs will probably keep paying a premium for the absolute cream of the crop like Anderson given the homegrown quotas. For the rest I think we'll start seeing far more situations where players remain at non-big 6 clubs for a few seasons longer than they otherwise would have in order to run down their contract and leave for a cut price deal (or eventually for free). I can see Alex Scott doing that.

 

I don't think Anderson is worse than Enzo or Caicedo and they both went for £100m+.

 

It's not even just within the Premier League thing. Man Utd paid £80m for Antony after he scored 5 goals in the Dutch league. £75m for Hojlund and £75m for Sesko who usually sits on the bench. Liverpool paid £116m for Wirtz from Germany and Newcastle £69m for Woltemade from Germany etc. Nearly all these transfers were flops as well.

There's a broader trend of fans not accepting that the inflation has happened. You hear people saying with confidence stuff like 'Rice isn't worth more than £50m'.
