It’s an aggregation over the whole season. I think Scott has been brilliant in the latter part of the season. Maybe if you could separate the last third of the season then perhaps he’d look better against his fellow English midfielders. I just think he needs to show more over a longer period of time. Anderson has been excellent over two seasons and in this season in defiance of his club’s overall performance.
Konsa, Rogers and Watkins start for Aston Villa. Wright, Mings, Elliott, Abraham and Sancho are on the bench.
If you do it per 90 mins isn’t that taken as an average per game? edit: Actually doesn’t give a true reflection for the second half of the season, my bad.
No idea what that qualifying change means tbh. I think it's grossly unfair if only 1 team qualifies directly from each group. You'd like to see more meaningful games, but group formats are always fairer than play offs, as you can always have a bad day in a one off game.
I would agree with that. Scott was one of our most overrated players until this season, tbh. I still think he’s a better player and would have more impact than Wharton or Garner (and Henderson) personally. But yes, Anderson should be one of the first midfielders on the plane.
But I could tell from the 10th minute frueburg were shitting themselves trying to waste as much time as possible and villa look so much more composed
I'm feeling more confident about this summer when I know we've got players that can impact big finals and big title challenges. Konsa rogers and Watkins have been excellent tonight. Guehi and o'reilly at the weekend. Kane in Germany rashford in spain
Somehow Sancho who is a toxic presence in dressing rooms has managed to go on three loans away from United and become a Champions League finalist, a Conference League winner and now a Europa League winner.
He had some decent moments like the assist for Tielemans which was a pretty good pass imo and his finish for his goal which I think it was great movement to get in front of the defender, very striker like. He did go missing at times though which he often does but he makes up for it like today.
Congratulations to our #ThreeLions and #YoungLions at @AVFCOfficial on their @EuropaLeague glory! 🙌 https://t.co/RHCXbKbbsN— England (@England) May 20, 2026
And yet each loan has been a personal failure for him. He hasn't managed to secure a permanent move and in his last two loans he's been a rotation option. He remains miles away from getting a call-up to the England squad. He's an icon for coasters everywhere. He wasn't ever credibly described as 'toxic' at United either, just that he didn't put enough effort in, was often late and unprofessional etc.
He was the reason they looked like they had no central midfield players, I thought he was excellent throughout.
Ahh yeah that was a lovely goal. Didn't realise it was Rogers with the pass whilst watching yesterday.
