Before his injury I found Colwill to be someone who gave the ball away a surprising amount tbh. He's ambitious with his long passing but not especially reliable with it imo.
Tbf Colwill has stuck out like a sore thumb here. Looks remarkably fit and sharp for someone who's just back from a serious injury. At his best he's arguably our best defender but even now I don't think we have three better CBs than him.
Would Tuchel take him at this stage of the season and considering he’s been out for such a long time? I would take him but if he’s not been around the squad all season, I’m not sure Tuchel will take him over other options that have been in the camps during the past season. My god just reading that back, I sound like Fireburn
Personally I don't think he'll go. But I'd take him. Didn't tuchel give him his Chelsea debut? If so he'll know all about him
Agreed but if Tuchel takes Henderson, that’s one place reserved as a risk/cheerleader position. How many other slots can he take risks with? I’m unsure of how the makeup of how this squad will look tbh.
It's Stones I'd consider dropping personally. We don't have a good idea of what level he's at and even then, I don't know if I'd back him to stay fit. Who knows but I think Tuchel is only confident about Guehi, Konsa and Stones. He seems to flip flop around the other names.
Amazing how Chelsea decide they can play football when everyone is watching in a big game and their ego is on the line. They're the new United.
The fact Reece James hasn't played consistently as a Right Back for yrs, is making me think we shouldn't be banking on him at RB for England. Its just another, of a long list of risks which is leaving us with a defensive crisis for the World Cup.
The only thing I'm worried about with Reece James is his ability to stay fit. He's the sort of player who can be out for nine months and look world-class the first game he comes back. He's one of our handful of legitimate world beaters.
Tuchel must be thinking about Colwill if he's playing like this 5 weeks from our first game. He's a class above virtually all our other options.
Feels like we have players coming back from injury just at the right time and we have players coming into form. Maybe the stars are aligning
Curtis Jones is on another planet technically to nearly every other English midfielder. I don't know how much more obvious it needs to be that a player who can look after the ball like that needs to be in the team.
No English starters for Sunderland. Rigg and O’Nein are on the bench. Maguire, Shaw, Mainoo and Mount start for Manchester United. Heaven and J Fletcher is on the bench. Smith Rowe starts for Fulham. Reed and King are on the bench. Smith, Hill, Scott and Tavernier start for Bournemouth. Dunk, Hinshelwood and Welbeck start for Brighton. Steele, March and Milner are on the bench. Bentley and Armstrong start for Wolves. Gracey and Gomes are on the bench. Jones and Ngumhoa started for Liverpool. Gomez was used from the bench. Nyoni, Woodman and Wright were unused. Colwill ans Palmer started for Chelsea. James was used from the bench. Acheampong, Toisin, Chalobah, Delap, Eboue and Kavuma McQueen were unused.
He was always Englands best RB, but he can't stay fit. Also why he has barely played at RB for Chelsea because they know it
