Henderson tries to get in the World Cup squad. He doesn’t deserve this.
Pickford had a bad edition this weekend. Not many players in great shape. Tottenham is in problems, they produced some good players for England.
In 90’s, some great players like Sheringham, Shearer, McManaman, Fowler, Joe Cole were mostly on the bench, or outside the team.
National team players must be the game carriers in their clubs: Seaman, Campbell, Rio Ferdinand, Neville, Ashley Cole, Scholes, Beckham, Anderton, Andy Cole….in Premierleague, the carriers are French, Brazilian, Dutch, Argentine, Portuguese players…Newcastle doesn’t have great players: material for titles, top four in Champions League.
Why Jaime Vardy was not often in English NT?

ManUtd - only three English players were starters: Maguire, Shaw and Mainoo…
So, they can’t find anyone local who could replace old Casemiro who scored today.
Forgotten Barkley played for A Villa.
Mason Mount ManUtd bench. Both were once great players, just like Trippier.

I thought that technical Barca style might lift Rashford. He seemed consistent. Many injuries, just like Wallcott, Aaron Lennon, Sterling, Owen, Joe Cole - players who were nice to watch. Wrong clubs, wrong tactical assignments?

He is very popular, he has Overlap podcast. Pretty average topics. How can anyone understand Liverpool accent? Carragher, Rooney..
Why is Jaime Carragher so influential? Zero club titles, average NT performance…

I'd reckon Lewis Hall is a great player; always love watching him.

Plenty of English players are carriers in the epl. I can only think of Fernandes as the only game carrier in England that is Portuguese

Declan Rice is absolutely a carrier for Arsenal. He's dropped off a bit but he's likely to win Premier League player of the year if (when) Arsenal win the league.

Saka has been a carrier of Arsenal for years and the last time Man City won a league title it was Foden who carried them to it with 19 league goals (winning Premier League player of the year).

Not the Premier League, but the last time Real Madrid won a league title their top goalscorer (and best player) that season was Jude Bellingham (winning La Liga player of the year).

You're right that many have experienced drop-offs for their clubs though and aren't in great shape. I don't always think there's a major correlation between club and NT showings though. A lot TBC with some of these players imo.

Hold those doors wide open Ladbrokes!! There's a Bogle-Webster-Yates-Nketiah accumulator already burning hole in my pocket!

They've even got Rico Henry at 33/1... and he now plays for Jamaica!

Can't see Anderson going to Bayern. They've already got pavlovic and kimmich in those roles. And they're both better than Anderson atm

  12. Surprised Bellingham is back. The Spanish press unusually seemed to be a bit coy about it. But he's had a nice break which should stand him in good stead. Should be in the squad on Friday then?

Yes, there's no logic to not have him into the squad, just playing him very sparingly. He needs to be around the squad before the World Cup.

Just watched the highlights of rio Ngumoha. Lineker said he's got a bit of mbappe about him. He looks that way. It's so exciting to see two young English players with that amount of ability. I'm looking forward to seeing them both on either wing for England one day

Reece James is absent from Chelsea Training today.

Levil Colwill is still a bit off returning so I’m skeptical if Tuchel will take him.

That's a terrible comparison by Lineker, I think Ngumoha has years before he in contention for a senior spot, needs a lot of time to develop his all round game.

I agree he's very different to Mbappe (although their movement style looks quite similar aesthetically) but I think Ngumoha can reach the seniors quite quickly. Every other left wing option is deficient in parts of their game but Ngumoha's 1v1 ability already means he has a very important trait that none of the others have.

Would you believe that Reece James is injured again and out for a few weeks ?
