The heat is absolutely going to be a factor

I've been to matches in the US where it is at 90F at a 730pm and it is miserable just watching.

That was not just the heat, but Eriksson's tactics as well.

James and Delap started for Chelsea. Muekha, Derry, Acheampong and Toisin were used from the bench. Sharman-Lowe was unused.

    Delap got 3 assists.

The media never mention him. They will all be scratching his heads if he gets a call up.

Barcelona are keen to lower the £26m transfer option previously agreed for on-loan England striker Marcus Rashford, 28, but Manchester United are holding firm. (Express)

Barcelona will face no financial penalties if they decide against making Marcus Rashford's move permanent - Daily Mirror

If Tuchel wants to call up an average left footed CB who can also fills in at Lb, and plays for a club in Black and White stripes, he may as well continue picking Burn.

Might Kelly be better than Burn? I'm no Lloyd Kelly expert but I think based on what we've seen, Burn is a fair way short of being England quality. I think there's probably every chance Kelly is a better option.

There are both average, neither would be anywhere near an England team I’m picking. I haven’t watched a great deal of Kelly either at Juve , but I’d be amazed he isn’t as mistake prone as he used to be.

I agree. Playing for Juve, particularly this grossly underachieving edition, really shouldn't be a precursor any more to getting an England call-up. Not when you've got exciting young talents like Jarrad Branthwaite and Charlie Cresswell available, and fully deserving of a look in before Lloyd Kelly.

I wouldn't include Kelly or burn. I'd rather recall maguire

Talking of players in Serie A, Loftus-Cheek started the last two games with a goal in each game.

I wouldn't have Lloyd Kelly in the squad either, but personally I wouldn't say Branthwaite or Cresswell are more deserving than him. Branthwaite has hardly played for about a year while Creswell still needs to be tested at a higher level before being considered for England imo. Juventus aren't what they once were, but they're still better than Everton & Toulouse.

I think our best bets are four (hopefully he doesn't pick five) of Guehi, Konsa, Maguire, Stones, Chalobah, & Colwill (if fit and if we're desperate). Everyone else is either too green or not the level imo. I don't even think Quansah is ready yet.

On a side note, James Hill of Bournemouth is one to keep an eye on. We had him on loan at Rovers a while back and he was very good. Seems to have made a big difference to Bournemouth since coming into the side. This summer will be too soon for him but it'll be interesting to track his progress.

We've had alot of young defenders on loan at rovers who've gone on to bigger things. Van hecke is now a Dutch international, hill is a regular in the Bournemouth team. Branthwaite is one of the most sought after defenders in England and Harwood-Bellis is an England international

We kind of bash the idea of picking a player who plays for Juventus ( because there’re not the Juventus of old ) and admittedly I’ve haven’t seen much of him but he’s a regular starter for them and for a side who’s players get picked Internationally by France, The Netherlands and Italy, not sure why we shouldn’t also be looking there to if it’s merited.

I don't think anyone is saying don’t pick him because of the club he plays for, he simply isn’t that good. I’d pick Mings or Tarkowski ahead of him.

I'm not wholly convinced you can dismiss Everton and Toulouse then, in the next breath, champion a Bournemouth player. But that aside, I think we'll have to agree to disagree on the idea that Lloyd Kelly has the edge simply because he plays for Juve.

Harry Maguire is certainly in the vanguard position right now for that 4th centre back spot. Chalobah has never convinced me. Colwill won't be fit. And if Tuchel is looking at other centre back options, I think we can do better than Kelly.

I'd consider Acheampong. Not because he's a dual but because he's been impressive for Chelsea

If there was VAR Alleyne would have just given away a penalty.

Gone off injured from the incident and replaced by McAidoo now.

I did not say James Hill should be considered for the World Cup. The six players I named before that are the only ones I think should be considered, providing they're all fit. I simply said, on a side note, that Hill's development is worth keeping an eye on in the coming seasons, which is exactly the same as my stance on Branthwaite and Cresswell.

Colwill won't be at his absolute sharpest but he had a patellar ACL graft (quicker recovery time) with the intention of being back in time for the World Cup, and it looks like he's going to return before the end of the season. Personally I'd rather take a rusty Levi Colwill, who's much more proven at the top level, than any of our other options.
