For years now, Stones has been getting niggling injuries every season and flipping in and out of the City team. But he always seems to be fit and ready to go, come summer tournament time. We've actually been quite lucky with Stones for England, so much so, we've almost taken this for granted. But this could be the first tournament he misses through injury. Last season 2024-25, he missed a lot of football via a hamstring issue (months and months).
Its true, we've now got plenty of attacking midfield options. But something tells me, we're still lacking elite players, who can anchor the midfield vs the best teams. Tuchel has better options (Anderson, Wharton) than Southgate had in the last Euros. But I wont be convinced we've really solved that issue until we see it with our own eyes in a tournament. I was really hoping Mainoo would grow into the role after 2024, but he's gone completely backwards at Man Utd
It's getting FREEZING COLD in the Premier League. 🥶Cole Palmer and Morgan Rogers score in the same weekend for the first time in 2025! pic.twitter.com/KydKmL38gV— Premier League (@premierleague) December 14, 2025
In the next couple of months, assuming he avoids injury, he's going to become only the 27th player in the history of the game to reach 500 career goals. He has every chance of ending his career in the top ten (627 goals will do that). He's scored 467 goals in eleven and a half seasons, yet he's only been in the top 10 for the Ballon d'Or once, and in 10th place for that.
If someone wanted to rank Moore or Charlton higher I wouldn't argue, but I don't think you can make a case for anyone else.
Suspect the Bellingham family will be putting the BBC on the boycott list soon then. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/articles/c23erymym9eo
Rogers is a bit of a weird one. He looks good, but his underlying numbers aren't great. He has 16 chances created in 16 matches. Foden, by comparison, has 27 in 14. Grealish has 29 in 15. Only Mohammed Kudos has been dispossessed more than him in the league this season, and his take on success rate is poor.
We are ********ing stacked on most areas of the pitch. Not everywhere but most. Bring on anyone we face. We're better than nearly everyone. If we have to do it the ********ing hard way lets do it the hard way.
Morgan Rogers vs West Ham https://t.co/G6m2IwY6jn— EB10 (@astonvilla___) December 14, 2025 Rogers must be ahead currently. Tuchel wants to pick him. Unless he emerges as an option on the left with Gordon's star on the wane.
