He's been snatching at things. Normally he's much more in control.

I think we'll probably see him at left back a fair bit, similar to how City use Gvardiol to free up Alexander-Arnold.

    Madueke's selfishness is so frustrating.

I’m not sure Lee Dixon rates Lee Carsley much - he was quite negative.

Cknor Gallagher carrer surely over as he and Livramento were the only outfield players who didn’t get on for either matches.

I disagree with Dixon but it’s a fair point he made.

How do we judge pretty much any manager in this situation?

Thanks to Gareth we don’t play anyone at all before 2026.

Don't think I've ever heard Lee Dixon not be negative, maybe it's just his miserable tone.

It's difficult to judge given the standard of the teams we've played, but there's definitely positives to take and especially from today. There's clearly a more attacking mindset compared to Southgate. Let's see how the next few games go.

We could have two top friendlies next year if the Fa manage it,

Greece will definitely be a far tougher test than these two

Greece will be a tougher test as they have also beat Ireland and Finland.

Good game overall, could easily have been more but for some excellent defending/goalkeeping and wasteful play from England but I liked how we approached the game. Lots of through the lines passes and moving the ball quickly which is how to play against these kind of deep sides. A good workout for the side, particularly going approaching an hour goalless it was nice to see us stick to a plan instead of panicking and resorting to lumping high crosses in.

Decent break overall and decent steps forward being taken in the set up of the side and tweaks to the playing style. We do need to improve our defending against counter attacks, but hopefully that kind of organization will come.

No one will ever convince me that you are not on the wind up, at times.

Depends how Greece approach the games. It's hard to compare us against them, as both Finland and Ireland will have been less defensive than against us.

Athens will be tough but hopefully we have won the group by then.

At the very least we can say there's a coherent idea of what's trying to be achieved and the starting lineups are picked with a heavy emphasis on balance, which on its own is a massive improvement.

Even against lesser opposition I do personally think you can see Carsley has had a positive effect on the patterns of play. I don't know how far we can go under him but if we had to pick a permanent manager tomorrow I'd be more than happy to give him a crack.

I'd give carsley the job full time. He has good ideas and in time he'll get this England team clicking. He's also not afraid to throw youngsters in

To be honest with you we should NOT be worried about Greece! They may be the second best team in our group but that's not saying much!

They seem a team in form unlike these two.

They're Greece not Italy, we should be wiping the floor with them!

54th in the FIFA rankings. 30th on Elo. Similar to Slovenia in both.

Yes exactly ranked below Costa Rica and Qatar, if we are now to worry about the likes of Greece then we've fallen a long way!

We shouldn't be worried about anyone in Group B (or a fair few in Group A for that matter). Yes, there's teams that could spring a surprise on us, but we're clearly the best team in there by a distance if we play to anywhere near our potential.

We are in nationals league B, I think everyone knows we should win every game! Not sure it needs repeating ad nauseam. The one benefit is we can blood and find out about options like Gomes, Madurese and Gibbs-White, and not stress about pull outs.
