We've looked most dangerous when the wide players have gone on the outside, but the majority of the time they're both cutting back in. That's held up a lot of our play.
I don't think they're all that different. Mainoo was roughly as deep as Gomes now and Gomes quite regularly finds himself on the edge of the Finland box. That's what I'm largely saying though, Mainoo's ability in small spaces and ingenuity would be more valuable in this game than Gomes' recycling imo.
Their last ditch defence and good gk ********in ell. We aren’t doing too much wrong. Oh what a goal Kane.
We've had chances before, but a most shots were pretty close to the keeper. No chance with that one though,
Gordon's had a very good game. Got a bit of Sterling in him, good 1v1 but not great, but his off the ball movement is top. Always where you want him to be.
Needs to improve his finishing mind, got into a lot of presentable positions but his shooting always seems very predictable
The difference is we've had so many attempts today, still room for improvement but we are creating chances and Kane is getting service. Much better than 1/2-0 where we have 3 shots on goal
One of the big differences is that Kane is staying up top more. He's still dropping deep at times, but I think the better possession and chance creation means he's getting less frustrated and seeking out involvement as he knows he'll get service.
I'd be surprised if Kane doesn't get it, but Trent's got better and better as the game went on. Key passes in both goals.
