ITV will airing in match Adverts during the Six Nations Rugby next February and March. An obvious trial before they do so during the World Cup next summer
TNT already did it in England vs NZ this weekend. They put Gapgemini as a logo on the try zone area, when Underhill scored. But when you see the replay, there's nothing there in that area.
Pickford Henderson Pope James Spence Livramento O'Reilly Stones Guehi Konsa Burn Rice Anderson Henderson Wharton Rogers Bellingham Foden Palmer Rashford Gordon Saka Madueke Kane Watkins ...is 25. Still wouldn't ink Wharton or Burn in And still leaves Eze and Bowen for place 26. He seems to like both. But I still think one of them will miss out, and wouldn't like to say which despite Eze's recent goals. He still looks a bit 'odd man out' when everyone is fit
If you take Burn you have to take five CB’s. Because he pretty much can’t play against certain teams. This is why Burn is always a weird pick. Especially when Stones is also a fitness concern. The 26th place should go to a CM considering the demands of the tournament. The demands of the tournament should also mean Henderson is dropped. Every meet up there is a highlight on the pitch of why Henderson should be dropped. If you wanted a busy type to close games out it has to be someone like Curtis Jones.
It's beyond overblown and has reached pretty stupid levels at this point imo. So much of what the media write about him is pure fiction and speculation - starting with the "Bellingham has no friends in the England camp" crap they published during Euro 2024 - and what we're seeing now is the culmination of an 18-month-long hatchet job. There was a "journalist" in the post-match presser yesterday who told Tuchel that Bellingham didn't celebrate the goals and asked for his reaction to that, but numerous fans have screenshotted pictures showing Jude celebrating with multiple teammates. That's the extent of the "reporting" that takes place on Bellingham. Sheer fabrication and fiction. Course, he's very competitive and he's clearly very confident, but so what? How many footballers across the globe could you fit into that description? If the media hammered every player who reacted badly to a substitution, waved their arms here and there when something went wrong on the pitch, and expressed their self-assurance after scoring a goal, they'd have to produce multiple papers every day.
Pretty sure that was the Guardians Jacob Steinberg, who wrote articles off the back of Tuchel's quotes about something that didn't really happen. Hopefully Tuchel learns he can't take what these journalists say at face value even from the likes of the Guardian (who seemingly hold themselves to a higher standard than the others)
I think that's fair personally. There is a lot to like about Tuchel's forthright nature but it's led to the media treating him like a quote machine and abusing his honesty. They're asking the most ridiculous questions that range from fictional inventions to attempts to spin non-events into major incidents. A journalist yesterday kept pressing Tuchel about an alleged push from Bellingham on an Albanian player in the 10th minute - something so minor that nobody (Tuchel included) can recall it. I think he quickly needs to wise up to the media and what they're like, and reassess how he approaches questions on specific topics. The media knew they could get nothing out of Southgate on topics like this but they clearly feel like they're in Disney Land now. Being diplomatic isn't in Tuchel's nature but he needs to tone it down in certain situations imo.
Very much so. He has really helped fuel some of these things this year by some of what he has said. Managers normally give some interviews after the draw so it will be interesting to see if he can manage to not accidentally cause another media storm.
I don't think it's a good look but, more to the point, I don't think the lad had a particularly good game anyway. He just wasn't 'on it' last night. It happens and we move on. Talk of him not going, however, is obvious bullshit.
Nobody really knows the extent to which there is a problem with Bellingham. There probably is some kind of there there. I'm assuming numerous people informed him when he took over there were issues and the journos clearly have been fed the same anecdotes I've got some sympathy with Tuchel. He's very bright and likes to be forthright and black and white, but it all falls down when he's being fed erroneous information and the ripples that come from quotes like that can't be withdrawn easily. If he hasn't seen the reaction in full, he should have bitten his tongue. He's only in control when he's reacting to thing he's fully informed on. The quotes yesterday were pretty unfortunate. Craig Hope opened the conference on the Bellingham issue and Tuchel's initial comments were fair enough. But then both he and the Guardian journo proceeded to feed him what seems arguably a slightly distorted reading of Bellingham's conduct, which he admitted he didn't see in full - so he was taking their word for it and gave them the quotes they were looking for.
I think he comes across as billy big bollocks to an extent yeah. He's not the only world class player to be like this - see Mbappe - but I personally feel humility goes a long way. And whether or not the media made a big thing of it or not (they always will), I think he definitely looked annoyed at coming off last night even though the game was done and he was on a yellow card. Kane was getting substituted at the last Euros but his body language was much more positive when it happened and he's England's record goalscorer. It's not that big of a deal and probably part of his very self confident personality so likely won't change but it does make him come across as arrogant compared to other players in the team. Not debating his ability as a footballer though.
Alex Scott was the 11th player from the two U21 Euro winning squads (2023, 2025) to be called up by Thomas Tuchel. Trafford, Colwill, Gibbs-White, Gordon, Jones, Palmer, Madueke, Livramento, Quansah, Anderson, Scott.
The whole press thing with Bellingham is probably because he doesn't do newspaper interviews. I'd have a guess that they all had an unwritten agreement to go after him after the match. But the problem they have is he doesn't play for an English club so supporters of (other) English clubs won't go after him and he gets voted man of the match and there bullshit is called out online.
Who cares if he comes off as billy big bollocks, not everyone has the same personality in squad, how dull would that be. He doesn't seem to be a disruptive influence on the team in the team at all, and seems like he has good relationships with a whole bunch of different individuals. This is being blown out of all levels of proportion, mainly because Tuchel didn't call him up last window and was gullible/naive enough to not push back in the last press conference, the press know they can keep dragging this story and it creates more clicks for them because he a global superstar.
100%. I doubt either party will be losing any sleep over something as innocuous as this. And if Jude really is fragile enough to take offence, then he only has to look at his MOM award and the fact that he's been invited into the England leadership group to see just how valued he is.
It’s why a few of them have outright said things like if he was captain and still didn’t do interviews they would treat it as declaration of war on the media by the FA.
There were suspicions at the Euros that Man City and maybe their players were behind some of the negative stories about him. The Athletic’s Man City reporter was who claimed he didn’t get fit on with some of the players (Leading to a suspicion that him and Foden didn’t get on in particular).
Anyway, just to clear up that the journalist(s) are shit stiring to the maximum just to try and get at Jude, didn’t celebrate a goal they said, walked off the pitch angry they said……pathetic! 1990192840048345116 is not a valid tweet id
You're very argumentative, just chill, it's just an opinion. Just like everyone has different personalities everyone has different opinions too, otherwise in your words this place would be very dull too.
