The sample size is miles too small to say that with any confidence imo. Rogers hasn't even had a standout performance for England yet. Even amidst good team performances he's very rarely been better than decent. Bellingham and Saka both have a long history of performing with England and scoring clutch goals in international tournaments. There's immense value in that and it's not something you easily swap out for players of the calibre of Rogers and Madueke. There's a high likelihood that both of them start next summer.
thought Foden did really well coming on. biggest question i have is...where is Palmer going to fit in, if at all?
Palmer goes if fit, no way he doesn't go with his big game prowess and ability to affect games. Probably doesn't start but a great option to have.
Bellingham is playing catchup at the moment because of this shoulder injury at the start of the season. If he gets back to his best for the world cup he'll probably start. But needs to be at his best. The no10 spot is a proper game of thrones position along with the leftback spot.
That was his personal standout performance but I don't think it was a standout performance in general barring a couple of very good moments. His performances haven't progressed since then either.
Not a great performance. Kane surely player of the match jsut because he actually scored. Nearly as bad as Kane doing them at Euro 2016. Wharton’s playing style is something I think a lot of fans could turn on if things go tough. He looks like he doesn’t really care (I know he does but just looks so laidback) I wish it was the end for him but he seems an imoviable rock in this squad. Could be player of the tournament if we go deep in the Worl The way he is going he might get to 100 goals before he retires. Unfortunately I’m 90% sure it’s Maguire who is the player he has decided he will never recall. I’m skeptical of Bellingham being at the World Cuo if he not a starter. Just don’t have good feeling about how he might react to that. The problem for Madueke is he might not be starting for Arsenal that much. Same issue could be occurring soon with Gordon and Newcastle as well. We know Tuchel seems to care about x Will be a test of just how nasty the press might be about that. He is also not at his best for Aston Villa either at the moment. Been getting better the last couple of matches through.
If everyones fit I probably play Livramento at leftback. But there are so many leftback options that its anyones guess.
Job done!Let's get your votes in for your England Player of the Match connected by @EE 👇— England (@England) November 16, 2025 Bowen, Bellingham. Henderson and Kane nominated for player of the Match.
Until the bomb squad came on it wasn’t great to be honest but we really were our own worst enemies by making some terrible decisions, Stones back pass that nearly cost us a goal was one obvious one, Kane did an awful pass across the pitch in the first half that Albania had a decent chance with, Burn with another one. Was just littered with individual errors which isn’t really like us but sometimes you have games like this but it all changed once Anderson and Foden came on who really took charge of the game imo and you could see the difference, was night and day. I’m definitely not writing off players who found it hard tonight and especially Wharton who played his game for a long time, he needs time to adapt and I’m sure he will.
I'm not writing Wharton off either but he needs to be more proactive in games. He needs to leave Palace if he's to become the player he can be because there's no doubt he's supremely gifted
I don’t think anybody has been particularly amazing in the 10 role. Bellingham will end up taking the starting role because of his style, athleticism and adaptability in the role. Seems obvious. Rice, Anderson, Bellingham, Gordon and Saka is just extremely formidable as a pressing force.
Yet we look so much more fluid with him playing the number 10 role. Jude has all the talent in the world, but it genuinely wouldn't surprise if Tuchel is giving serious consideration to starting with Morgan.
Really odd game. For 60 mins shockly bad. Then basically sub on the first team and play the normal system we score 2 goals in 30 mins. Tuchel needs keep the system and hope Anderson stays fit. Its looking like Anderson is our verison of Rodri.
Do we look more fluid specifically because Rogers is on the pitch instead of Bellingham, or is it because when Rogers has been starting, so have the likes of Elliot Anderson, Reece James, Marc Guehi, Bukayo Saka and Anthony Gordon?
Not sure why Quansah played the whole game as essentially as a RB, what do we gain, never realistically going to play there again.
Im not sure he will, he’s the obvious back up to Anderson if he was to get injured but I guess you could shuffle around the midfield a bit but Henderson is the one who should miss out and can’t be relying on him come the World Cup.
