I'm expecting Bellingham to start regardless. The best bet for next summer's midfield currently looks like Rice/Anderson/Bellingham, and I think Tuchel's going to want Anderson and Bellingham to get used to playing together.
I think it could be more than just MGW who misses out if Palmer's fit. The summer's a long way off, but I don't think Rogers or Eze can relax about their spots. Foden's place is probably more dependent on him, as he's talented enough to put it beyond doubt if he keeps playing well.
Think you're way off on this one, to be honest. Bellingham's one of our few uncontroversially world-class players; he's not going to be dropped for Morgan Rogers.
It depends who is fit and where you overload the squad. I was just attempting to point out that you could pretty much have six ‘number 10’s’ in a squad if you used their versatility to fit into squad places.
I'm not against the idea, but Anderson's started so well and dovetailed with Rice so seamlessly that you can't just ignore that. I do think it's worth getting Wharton fully integrated though, as he's the next cab off the rank. That is, if we can rely on him to join up with the squad consistently.
I'd probably start Anderson at the world cup because of his understanding with rice but as the tournament progresses Wharton will be a better weapon against bigger nations as keeping possession will be key
Our depth at the moment is fantastic really. 5 years ago we were screaming out for a player in the same ilk as Anderson or Wharton and now we have them both. Chuck in Scott as well and we have the makings of a great squad. Our biggest problem is accommodating them all but that’s a lovely problem to have for the manager .
It's nice to hear our manager talking straight and with sense. Tuchel has been quoted as saying Foden, Bellingham and Kane cannot play in the same team so it looks like he'll resist the urge to shoehorn players in and will focus on the best system instead. Southgate did this at Euro 2021 but went too far, not playing a lot of our attacking players in form at the time (Sancho, Foden, Grealish etc) and we did well but didn't look great going forward.
Other than the final when we had Mason Mount out wide (which was a big mistake that we persisted with way too long), I don't really see where any of those players would have fit into the team without unbalancing it. Sterling was England's key player back then and had that left side of Kane spot nailed down, then on the right Foden did start 2 games and Sancho 1 and neither showed anything in those games (or really any other point in their England career) to suggest they needed more.
Yeah, I'm really buying into this direct, no-nonsense approach. Let every player know what their position is... start with your strongest Xl every game... build partnerships... create familiarity... reign in the big egos... and play dynamic front foot football from the off. Fantastic.
The PFA have had discussions with senior members of the squad to talk about various issues according to the Times,
The team needs to keep winning. Any loss before the World Cup will resume the full on negativity many in the press openly want. And he also needs luck - sometimes luck is not on side and something or someone changes things for the worse. Rogers having a slight injury might be a bit of good luck for him as it might delay the OTT response the press will have if Bellingham is benched.
Thomas Tuchel has called on his England players to take up meditation and keep wearing their new ‘mind-altering’ slippershttps://t.co/AKy5oOkQOA— Dom Smith (@MrDomSmith) November 12, 2025
The media unable to decide if Tuchel counts Guehi, Stones or Konsa as part of 8 he knows will start at the World Cup. I think it might be Stones and Konsa at this rate.
The QF against Ukraine was our best performance IMO (Germany was ok, they were pretty poor but we didn't create much). Sterling was immense but he should've had another attacking player in there, Mount at LW against Italy did nothing and we offered very little. Might as well have Grealish who can draw fouls if you aren't going to go for a wide natural winger. Sancho was in great form the previous season too, sterling, Kane, Sancho could've been lethal that tournament IMO
That's the spirit. Aren't you West Ham fans supposed to be forever blowing bubbles, not bursting them?

And if we runners up it’s Everton’s stadium for the R16 and Cardiff for the QF’s. If we third might be Glasgow/Dublin or Dublin/Glasgow for the two knockouts. The final is moving to be 5pm from 8pm matching the Women’s Euros and the CL (From next year).
Yeah, can you copy and paste the article on here because with respect, I’ve seen your ‘ suggests ‘ quite a few times where you have blown up the situation. I like Rogers but not sure when push comes to shove and your in the pressure scenario of a must win knock out game in the World Cup, you start Bellingham so I’m curious of your ‘ suggest ‘
