Morton assisted Maitland Niles for Lyon’s 2nd goal. Believe Rashford is the leader in assists in Europes top 5 leagues, with 7.

I think Liverpool's issues are mainly fatigue from last year, only Szobo, Gravenberch and Becker have maintained while Konate, VVD, Salah and sometimes AMC look like they ate hamburgers before KO. Normally, they pick up form again in december or Jan. Maybe some of them should be rested. Secondly, the new guys have not done well bar Ekitike. Wirtz seems good on the ball but needs time and a goal to get the confidence. He used to run a midfield in Leverkusen so now he has to share and is adjusting. Isak, I give him grace for being injured and lacking fitness. Frimpong, I don't know what the deal is, he's always injured but is a talent. Bradley has stepped up well though. They all have slow starts but they're new to the league, bar Isak and Kerkez and have genuinley found the original team in fatigue and calamity. That said it's obvious they didn't need that many attackers vs defenders or a DM. Gravenberch and either of Virgil or Konate go out, they're doomed. Another issue is Slot himself. Off the ball, Liver look abysmal. Darwin and Diaz pressed way more than what the current guys are doing. Gakpo should be a starter ahead of Wirtz. When Isak gets fit, I bet Slot will screw up the chemistry that is working in the XI. He reminds me of Lampard when he joined Chelsea the first time. Did well with a transfer ban, relying on youth. Then when it was lifted and he got serious backing, while some expected him to do better, he regressed!
I wonder if James Garner will get a call up next autumn. Feels unlikely pre World Cup. https://www.independent.co.uk/sport...-moyes-alex-scott-england-squad-b2861650.html
Garner reminds me of a player from the Hodgson era. Tom cleverley type. Not really good enough for this era of English midfielders
Some really impressive numbers so far from O'Reilly: elite end product, defensive numbers and ball progression through carrying. He could be a real break out this season for City and England, he seems much more suited to the full back role than MLS who has too many holes in his game for the position at the moment. https://fbref.com/en/players/91ca4a16/scout/12750/Nico-OReilly-Scouting-Report
I was really impressed with him against Liverpool, it’s amazing how players can switch to full back (from attacking midfield in O’Reilly’s case) and look so comfortable at the top level in less than a year.
Looks like Tuchel is going back to James Trafford #MCFC goalkeeper James Trafford poised for England call-up as Nick Pope was forced off with concussion in #BRENEW Thomas Tuchel has picked Jordan Pickford for every World Cup qualifier so far but place in 🇺🇸 now guaranteed ahead of fixtures vs Serbia + Albania🇷🇸🇦🇱@TeleFootball— Mike McGrath (@mcgrathmike) November 10, 2025
Yes both solid players and a few years they have have got 20 odd caps. But the options we have at the minute are some of the best I've seen and the strength in depth is the best I can remember.
Never forget Livermore starting so many games 7/8 years ago. The clamour for JWP etc. Our options now are so much better. Southgate even cried for years about having no replacement for Kalvon Phillips (is he even playing anymore?) and ignored Wharton etc and tried shoehorning TAA into the role

Livermore was the player I was thinking of when I said they're get 20 odd caps a few years ago because I think they're are both quite a bit better than him. Edit To be fair Kelvin Phillips was very good for a season or 2 but fell off a cliff when he went to Man City Man. I think hes back there now.
- Foden ran 12.76km alone and Bernardo Silva ran 12.73km alone against Liverpool. Only Foden (12.85km vs Everton) and Florentino Luis (12.78km vs Forest) have done better this season!- City cover more ground than anyone else so far this season: 1268.7km (115.3km per game)2/3— Julien Laurens (@LaurensJulien) November 10, 2025 Some interesting stats from the City vs Liverpool game. I gets mentioned alot about Foden being a flair player but according to these stats he also has great fitness as well.
Have the FA just forgot the camp was due to meet today? No photos or any updates at all. Surely he didn’t give them a day off with a match on Thursday?
You wouldn’t play as many games under Pep as Foden has without that being an integral part of your game, he simply wouldn’t accept it.
Yeah, Garner and KDH are clearly better players, but I think that says more about Livermore and our options at the time than anything else. He was excellent for Leeds under Bielsa.
Yes because has talked before about needing as many training sessions as possible and he already skipped one in September.
Just checked and Livermore only got 7 caps. Felt like it was more than that. Agreed on Phillips, he was very good for a couple of seasons and excellent at Euro 2021, but never really the type of player we needed, we needed an Anderson or Wharton to complement Rice. It's a shame he moved to Man City. Totally ruined his career
