You keep saying this but we regularly start two right footed centre backs together, including the last 3 games in a row, so he clearly doesn't care about it that much. Maybe in an ideal world he'd prefer it but it clearly factors very little in his actual selections.
I'd be very happy if Maguire was the squad player rather than Henderson. Unlike Henderson, Maguire has almost always done well for England, is a threat at set pieces and a leader. He still has a place IMO if we are looking for a leader
Or considering we seem to continue to pick an extra CB in the squad to compensate for actually picking Burn why not pick Luke Shaw as left back cover? We have to create a lopsided squad just to pick Burn I really don’t get the Burn selection because it is obvious he could never play left back with our style. Every time he’s played CB he has struggled and Tuchel has always requested him to come forward with the ball (knowing it is challenging for him). He’s attempted it and really been found wanting. Struggles with playing a high line etc. So he can’t even have an influence.
Watched real madrid. Bellingham was decent. Madrid never really got going. But Bellingham was one of the more dangerous players.
Eddie Howe has said Anthony Gordon (Hip Injury) and Nick Pope (Concussion) will be withdrawing from the squad. Not sure who if anyone will replace Gordon. (If we only have 23 outfield now Guehi and Gordon are unavailable then we risk not having a full bench come Albania at least and I simply don’t like seeing that.) Will Tuchel bring back Trafford or as he did before decide that Trafford’s lack of playing time means Johnstone or Rushworth are more deserving.
The clamour will be for Grealish but I wouldn't be shocked if Tuchel calls up Harvey Barnes to replace Gordon. There aren't too many options. It's a shame Hudson-Odoi has picked up an injury when he has. Could've been a perfect time for him.
Was it last season when he absolutely tormented Alexander-Arnold? I think he set the record for the most times being dribbled past in a game.

I'm not convinced there'll be any direct replacement, more likely Eze/Rogers will get some minutes there, alongside obviously Rashford.
Yeah you might be right tbf. There's probably little point in calling someone up if the manager isn't that high on them to begin with anyway. On different note Foden has been really good again. I think his performance has gone under the radar a bit here. He's so much more convincing in all the typical midfielder duties than he has been in previous seasons, both on and off the ball.
Depends. If anyone else has any injury doubts they will be a replacement surely. Please no half empty bench again.
His tackle on Wirtz about 15/20 minutes ago was brilliant, I swear I’ve never seen that side of Foden before.
He can be inconsistent but I wouldn’t describe him as a one trick pony. He’s actually quite hard to predict which way he’s going when dribbling, can go outside or inside with ease, he’s a nightmare to defend against when on song.
Thomas Tuchel was "honest" with Morgan Gibbs-White... maybe too honest! 😅#BBCFootball pic.twitter.com/diKQXGqoEp— Match of the Day (@BBCMOTD) November 9, 2025
Been watching the F1 so missed City vs Liverpool. But judging by the score City won quite easy. Liverpool have really dropped the ball this season. Bought lots of players but not the right one.I'd be interested to know who's idea it was to buy both Isak and ekitike . They have bought understudies to Van Dyk and Salah and a rightback to replace Trent.
I think even last season they were a pretty functional side who were massively boosted by Salah having all timer of a season - 29 goals and 18 assists - alongside a generally weak showing from the other top sides. It was all going to be a big question if Salah could replicate anything like that form again. It reminds me of Man United in Ferguson's last season when they won the league pretty comfortably, but really it was a incredible year by Van Persie that covered a fair amount of issues with the rest of the side. Their transfer business is looking very questionable for the spend mind you. Wirtz in particular who is struggling with the league but they don't seem to have a clear plan for him in their side despite the massive fee.
Wirtz looked a million dollars in the bundesliga league. Still to early to tell but hes giving Sancho vibes.
