I think rogers is a shoe in for the world cup. He's put in some impressive performances for tuchel. I think eze might be the one to miss out
Yes if you look at it that way. Also I would say that Rice and Bellingham are almost at the level of Gerrard and Lampard.
Adam Wharton is not fully fit according to Oliver Glasner so I wonder what the chances are come Monday he withdraws.
The full quotes However, there is some doubt on Adam Wharton, who came on in the 65th minute on Thursday. "He is still feeling his chest and it's not completely free. Sometimes we need to cough it out and I hope that happens now." "It was good for him to play for 30 minutes. He was a bit rusty but that is why it is important. He is getting better and better but is it enough to start against Brighton? I am not sure."
You might be right but if Villa is mid table and Arsenal win the league that might sway Tuchel's thinking.
I'd like to see against Serbia pickford o'reilly stones ghuei James Wharton rice Bellingham rashford kane saka. Then against Albania pickford spence konsa ghuei James Anderson rice foden rashford kane saka
I personally think we all need to be a bit more realistic about this, I know and understand that’s he’s been brought in to better Southgate and win it and the theory is that if he doesn’t then he’s out but there are so many big hurdles to overcome to win in the US that it’s one huge challenge which we very likely won’t succeed. However, if we go there and actually look good for the most part and get knocked out in a very tight game but the signs are promising, I don’t see what the issue would be to keep him on otherwise we just go back to the drawing board and hope we get lucky with the next manager which isn’t a guarantee. Early days I know but I personally think we should keep our options open with Tuchel instead of throwing everything at win it or sacked approach.
I'm not taking about him being sacked, I'm talking about him walking away. And it's not what I want to happen, I'd love him to stay.
Yeah fair enough but I think the general consensus ( media driven ) is that he should go anyway if we don’t win which I think is a little shortsighted imo.
I don't think we'll win the world cup but semi finals is a realistic possibility. If we perform like we did at the last world cup and put in a performance like we did against France then I'll be happy. I expect nothing less than winning the trophy at the next euros with home advantage

I also think winning next year will be a tough ask. A lot will depend on the draw we get (we have been relatively lucky in recent tournaments) and the weather, if it is hot and humid it will be tough to perform at a high level in a style that suits us with high pressing. 2028 at home should be one we aim to win for sure, I would take semi finals next year but realistically it all depends on the situation. If we go out to the first good team we face without playing well not much will have changed. One thing for sure, even though Kane is getting older we have some amazing talent for the next few tournaments at least
Tuchel has suggested to Talksport he will try Foden as a 9 before the World Cup. https://talksport.com/football/3715613/harry-kane-england-thomas-tuchel-phil-foden/ 🚨 EXCL: Aston Villa reach agreement with Morgan Rogers on new contract. Like you say apart striker we have 2 or 3 options in most poisitions and a lot of those players are in there early 20s. Rice is senior member of the team/squad hes only 26. Btw I don't thinks its out of the question we do well next year. Most of the tops sides aren't going to cope with weather any better than us.
It’s the same with everyone tho rob. Plus we’re producing some incredible talent. JJ Gabriel and Dowman. The young Nottingham Forest right back looks very decent.
