Watkins, Solanke and Toney are very good options. Better than most countries have. Then there's Tammy Abraham and Nketiah. We're fine for alternatives.

If Toney is scoring goals, absolutely no reason not to pick him in squads

Yeah, was gonna say there’s no reason why he can’t be picked. I mean if Countries like Portugal and Spain can pick players from that league then there’s no reason why we can’t.

Foden had a dozen excellent games there.
    Bellingham has done it.

Positives. Rice was all over the place. Great goal. We looked super fluid in the first half. Gomes is now tied to us. Gordon looks a different class on the wing compares to the likes of foden.

Negatives. Second half we just switched off

Thought the whole midfield played well. Colwill and Guehi were both unbelievable, think that could be our CB partnership down the line. Just gotta hope Colwill keeps injury free.

I thought Guehi was outstanding. Disappointing second half but the positives far outweigh the negatives, we completely toyed with them in the first half. Could’ve been 5 or 6 if it wasn’t for Hans O’Gruber in goal.

I dunno, funny to see Rice and Grealish scoring but I just can’t get excited by beating Scotland/Wales/Ireland.

Yeah same here. I’m actually more relieved when these fixtures are over against the Celtic nations. Not because I’m scared of losing to them, but because of the whole circus around it and their views on the empire etc.
onto a more meaningful game on Tuesday where we will be tested more.

Probably learned more about the team in the second half compared to the first half.

Overall good performance, which I expected. Look so much better.

I just read nothing into the second half. It was clear both to us, but more importantly the players, that they were completely superior to Ireland to the point of toying with them. In those sorts of games you try and put the opposition to the sword if you can, but then if the third, fourth, fifth goals etc don’t arrive, you just play in second gear knowing that there’s a long season ahead with tougher and more important games to come.

It was their cup final, it was just another game to us.

No reason why Livramento and Madueke can’t make debuts in the next game. Rico Lewis and Angel Gomes might even get starts. Got to manage the squad with this schedule.

An encouraging start considering the timing of the game, the coaching changes we have gone through and the game being in a pretty hostile environment.

Wouid be a bold move of Carsley to do that on top of the anthem story. The same press ranting about the anthem dislike Toney because he threatened legal action against the.

Why would it bold if he was scoring goals, he’s already an England player and we already know his level. The crap about the anthem is completely unrelated, and I have no idea why you keep bringing it up.

Because for a lot of people the Saudi league is of such a lesser quality that players should not be called up from there for a team as good as England. Particularly a player who is not in the final years of his career like Henderson was. Koeman comments on Bergwijn’s move went down a storm with a lot of people.

I'd start all of those names you mentioned. I definitely think Saka should be given a rest and probably Mainoo too. I think it'd be really useful to see what Madueke and Gomes can do.

I think Rico Lewis playing at right back with access to central areas could help with getting the best out of Gallagher too so it'd be nice to see that as well.

Surely it’s about the level of the player and if they are performing well, rather than the league (which is nowhere near as bad as you seem to think). He’s not some unknown or older player, we know his qualities it’s not bold in the slightest and it’s the managers opinion that matters not ‘lots of people’ thankfully.

I don’t think the league is that bad - it seems pretty decent and he is at one of the actually good sides in that league rather than the very very average side Henderson went to.

Going by the numbers Lewis and Gallagher are probably pencilled in for a start having been given 3 and 8 respectively.
