That's the key, and with Wharton and Scott. It's all well and good getting new names in the squad, but he has the perfect opportunity to give the new guys some game time. The games will still be competitive as both opponents still have something to play for, so a much better opportunity than friendlies.
Most exciting squad we've had in years. With the potential for the likes of palmer madueke trent etc to come back as well. We've really got incredible depth
Trafford must be really fuming with Man City now. Joined them, thought he N.1 and now has ended up N.2 and out of the England squad for a goalkeeper a lot of people don’t think is England quality.
Albania game will be a dead rubber if we beat Serbia. It will still be competitive for them because they play in front of a passionate home crowd.
There’s a lot to like about this squad selection, only issue is back up to Kane but I’m all for having an experiment with a false 9, Bellingham can play that role if needed and others to like Foden.
Only if Albania beat Andorra. If they don’t then Serbia could overtake them by beating Latvia if they lose to us.
Henderson is going to the World Cup if he's fit. It's really time to make peace with that fact. Also I don't see any way we go to the States with only Kane as an out and out forward, so this squad is as it is so he can look at other options in midfield patently. And when Tuchel says look he means as much in camp and in training as he does minutes on the pitch.

Completely inconsequential and unimportant, but the way they lay out the squad in the announcement bugs me. Bellingham and Rogers put with the central midfielders. I know that No 10 is a midfield position but I always think of it as an attacking role really. And, yes, I know Bellingham has played deeper before but I don't think any of us think that's what he's in the squad for, particularly with Scott and Wharton in there.
Understand Welbeck was very close to a recall … will hear from Thomas Tuchel at 11am. https://t.co/asQplQ4wwE— Ian Dennis (@Iandennisbbc) November 7, 2025

Thomas Tuchel says it was a “no brainer” to re-call Jude Bellingham. Says of Bellingham and Phil Foden: “We will have central roles for both of them to bring out the very best.”— Dom Smith (@MrDomSmith) November 7, 2025
This is brilliant. See you soon, @AlexScott_7! ❤️pic.twitter.com/wucwk9ewY6— England (@England) November 7, 2025
