Cole Palmer is such a cold finisher, shame about the offside, though.

Maresca needs binning. He brings on estavao a pacy player then instead of putting him on the right he puts him in the middle. He'll be found out at this level

Yet more evidence that Palmer is so much better utilised off the right than he is as a 10 imo, especially in big games. He can still get deeper touches and drift inside & what not, but he gets into goalscoring positions way more often when he's in the front three and it allows him to make runs in behind more often too.

He's mostly a moments player and just doesn't need to be doing half of the midfield duties that most 10s need to perform. Just let him be an attacker.

It might be my imagine but I think Kane is looking a bit more mobile this season than he has for while.

It’s funny as I’m sure it’s not intentional but when people describe someone as a moments player, it really doesn’t sound like a compliment and if a player is just a moments player, should he be in the England squad when you want a player who is always involved. Really makes you feel that Palmer is just another Le Tissier.

The Serbia game showed what happens when you press, attack and defend as a team. No one went missing or disappeared for large swathes of the game - and that should be the benchmark. Those who only want to turn it on when it suits can always be impact subs.

If he's a moments player, he certainly makes every moment count. Every touch has some significance to the team

His technique is very aesthetically pleasing
You think Palmer should be an impact sub?

personally I think the attack should be built round him, though I agree he should play on the right.

From what l've seen so far of Palmer in an England shirt, yes. A bit like Foden and Eze, l"m still not convinced he offers the team enough over the course of 90 minutes.

Yeah I think I'm in this camp now too. He has that big game clutch gene. Essential in a World Cup.

Quansah played the full 90 for Leverkusen

Dier played the full 90 for Monaco

Pope, Trippier, Burn, Livramento, Gordon and Barnes start for Newcastle. Thompson, Ramsdale, Hall, Willock, Miley nd Murphy are on the bench,

    Rashford starts for Barcelona,
O’Reilly and Foden start for Man City. Trafford, Bettineli, Lewis, Mfuni and Mukasa are on the bench.

Good that Gordon starts in particular.

Why does burn feel the need to make that challenge other than his adrenaline is high. He's now on a tightrope

Specifically in possession, I do think we've seen the limits of Livramento playing at left back tonight. Against a tough press and a team that's hard to play through, he's looked a bit awkward and its made it harder for Newcastle to build up on that side. He's still a very good left back but not doubt he's a right back long term.

He's done well defensively, I'm talking specifically about him with the ball at his feet.

He isn't really a technical player. He's got a good engine and is by far our best defensive fullback. But I agree he's better at right-back
