I think he somewhat does already. MGW kind of plays everywhere for Forest, he's got a free role to do whatever he wants and he spends a lot of time playing deep. I think you could easily play them together, although I'm sceptical of how successful McAtee is going to be at Forest personally.
Ride back starting for Arsenal alongside Madueke and Eze. Setford, Nwaneri, Lewis-Skelly and Dowman on the bench. Lewis-Skelly is lucky there is not much depth at left back otherwise his call up’s would be in doubt.
As a left-back, a calmer head and better positional nous. Lewis-Skelly isn't a left-back, once Hincapie gets up to speed MLS will probably be 3rd choice in that role.
HIs place will be in doubt if he doesn't play any games at LB, Hall, Livramento, Spence and Shaw are all viable alternatives/depth in that position.
Hall’s return to actually starting matches it taking time - I’m not sure Howe is actually still planning on demoting Trippier to the bench regularly. Shaw - Tuchel suggested he was close but Man United are not doing well.
We are 4 games into the season, you can’t assess Howes thinking yet, when they start the 2 game a week grind from this week, until December you’ll find he’ll play and start a lot.
Looking forward to seeing how eze does. There's plenty of English players in the arsenal Chelsea Newcastle teams. Not arsed about the other 3
Newcastle are easing Hall in gradually by all accounts. They hired a new Director of Performance, James Bunce, last summer, to sort out their ridiculous injury situation - and he places huge emphasis on giving players all the time they need to get back up to speed.
That’s good. Through his injury was a fracture which normally doesn’t have as high risk of reoccurring during recovery than a muscular one,
Eze at Arsenal has so far looked largely how we thought it would: glued to the wing with fairly limited access to central areas. He's still shown flashes but we're never going to see the best of him in this role.
Spence starts for Spurs. Austin, Byfield, Gray and Scarlett on the bench. Trent starts for Real Madrid. Jude Bellingham on the bench. Egen -Riley and Gomes are on the bench for Marseille. Kelly starts for Juventus. Jobs Bellingham and Chukwuemeka on the bench for Dortmund.
Thought Nwaneri looked really good replacing Odegaard recently but for some reason Arteta doesn’t seem to trust him for European games. I think it was similar last season too.
Interesting that Lloyd Kelly has seemingly made a regular starting place at Juventus with absolute zero fanfare. They've had a good start to the season so it'll be interesting to see if he comes on the radar at some point. Not too much competition in the left footed centre backs with Colwill out basically all season and Branthwaite injured again.
