Not to mention the refs. I haven’t known this many decisions go one way since the fergie days at united. They get the rub of the green for everything
Oh yeah I ain’t disputing that. I’m just talking about overall decisions by the refs. 50/50 decisions seem to go Liverpool’s way most of the time
Why the 2030s? Bearing in mind you also predicted that there wouldn't be any international football in 5 years (back in 2023), and that Graham Potter would succeed Gareth Southgate (because the FA would never hire a foreign coach), l wouldn't go losing too much sleep if l was the Premier League CEO.
The premier league might wane in popularity going forward but that will probably be more of a reflection of the sport against every other medium, rather than vs other leagues. There aren't any leagues really remotely close in set up to displacing the premier league in global popularity and that isn't going to change in the short or medium term.
I think the Premier league will the must popular league until something mental happens.Like a real european League happens or it tries too break away from the football League.
I've said this before but I cannot take Amorim's criticisms of Mainoo seriously when he gives as many minutes to Ugarte as he does.
Radcliffe watching on thinking about how many cleaners he's going to have to sack to make up for this.
I find it hilarious how United fans scoff at the idea of Southgate being their manager, given the dross they are being subjected to and have been subjected to under Ten Hag and now Amorim. Manchester United need a cultural transformation, Southgate has already shown he can successfully deliver this. They could do a lot worse than get on the phone to him now and ask him to take over.
They need a man manager more than a coach and thats what Southgate is. But Man Utd could get relagated and the fans would still say "It could be worst at least we didn't get Southgate"
I think the fans would be so against Southgate going there that he would be on a hiding to nothing if they ever tried it. He'd get vitriol from the beginning. That Amorim has survived this long does show the importance of perception mind you. If he'd been a known quantity he'd have gone long before last season ended, yet alone backed with another big transfer window and allowed to sell off the rest of the clubs wingers which is really going to impede any future replacement. One of the impressive things about Amorim is just how low he's allowed the bar to be lowered and still not managed to meet it. I genuinely think as long as he finishes top half this season, even if its in say 9th and not competitive with the European positions, the season would be viewed as a success.
Yeah it'd be almost an impossible job for him. He'd be held to infinitely higher standards than Ten Hag and Amorim have been while having to inherit the mess the two of them created between one another. I think United's best bet for a replacement with a good chance of success in the medium to long-term is Eddie Howe.
