We have to make sure we take more progressive passers to the World Cup on top of Anderson. Anderson may well end up first choice but we can't just rely on him to hold the whole team together. It makes a monumental difference having a player next to Rice who can keep playing clever forward passes like he can. You can't just substitute a player like that for Loftus-Cheek or Gallagher (no disrespect) or whoever else.
It was also pleasing how well Kane played today in his all round centre forward game which has been somewhat lacking for a while. Whether that was the players around him suiting his game better, notably the wingers stayed wide and Rogers stayed out his spacenand carved his own niche for the most part. But in general he did a much better job engaging the serbian centre backs today.
Spence was the 1295 England player. I wonder who will be the 1300th player. Probably won’t be till next autumn. (Trafford and maybe Quansah feel like the only ones who get on this autumn)

He's outstanding. He was brilliant in the Under 21s, and he's an excellent player. Maybe Alex Scott as a Bournemouth fan here might finally get looked at?
Yeah Wharton is undoubtedly the one we've got in mind. We need to keeping a keen eye on Tyler Morton's development too.
He obviously not a complete bolter, because I remember speaking about Anderson in his Bristol Rovers days on here, but it’s always nice to get a few players mature slightly later than all the wonder kids.
You know it’s time to turn off TalkSport when you have a caller wanting Rice to be the starting 6 and bringing Harry Maguire back into starting at centre back after the teams performance tonight What a clueless buffoon!
He should. Wharton, Scott, Morton and Curtis Jones should be in and around this squad by the time of the next meet up. It is not really a shock to anyone who followed the U21 finals that Anderson has adapted to senior international level so well. Scott was excellent in the final of that tournament. CM was always the area we needed to experiment in. This is why we shouldn’t be picking smaller squads with specific options primarily picked for ‘experience’. Next squad should be five CM’s for the deeper CM roles. Rice, Anderson, Wharton and two others. Pick Henderson if you must but the other options should be options like the ones mentioned at the top of my post.
Congratulations to Tuchel anyway. Got the team and approach perfect. Not sure I would be playing with a ten against the best teams though. Feel like we might get outnumbered and also vulnerable on counters. Still a lot of work to do but a very positive display to build upon.
He’s one of those that takes a while to find his specific team role. Those are the ones that you worry about in dual national issues. Would have been a devastating loss if he had switched because of the dearth of CM’s in our system.
If Henderson has to stay then Tuchel might as well drop MGW for one of the deeper options you mentioned. It'd be an unfair call on merit but if Tuchel isn't gonna play him then there's little point in having him there. He clearly prefers Rogers (no issue there) and when Bellingham returns it's hard to see when he gets on the pitch.
I guess that is the whole issue. However you select Henderson it either unbalances the squad or he takes an important spot from someone who you can see having a big impact playing in those deeper roles. Even someone like Curtis Jones would have been very useful in the Andorra game in the second half. You are basically limiting what your team can do because you want an experienced head to guide players. I do wonder if the way Anderson has performed might have an impact on Tuchel’s thought process.
