Reports coming out of Serbia that #ENG World Cup qualifier Sep 9 will be in Leskovac, three-hour drive from Belgrade, where England fans are flying in/out of. Evening kick-off. Some fans have early flights back from Belgrade the following morning. Crazy (if confirmed), game…— Henry Winter (@henrywinter) May 20, 2025 Comments underneath suggest it’s a political decision due to the Serbian manager expressing support for Anti Goverment protests in Serbia.
Tempers flared during Arsenal vs. Newcastle, meanwhile Myles Lewis-Skelly was just enjoying himself 😅 pic.twitter.com/xVYPL2yyx0— ESPN UK (@ESPNUK) May 19, 2025 Myles Lewis-Skelly. He's having the time of his life.

There are no English starters for Man City. Grealish, Foden and O’Reilly are on the bench. Cook and Tavernier start for Bournemouth. Dennis, Smith, Winterburn and Silcott-Duberry are on the bench.

Bellingham having shoulder surgery after the Club World Cup apparently according to the Athletic. Will be out for a few months.
Not good for England. Means he misses the Serbia matches. We can probably afford to lose one of them but not both to top the group.. Spanish press are saying Tuchel might not include Club World Cup players in the Senegal squad and might even leave them out entirely.
I'm quite surprised Madrid are choosing to do it after the CWC and not before to get him fit for the start of the league season. Shows where the La Liga title lies in their priorities. I could never imagine Arsenal doing that with Saka or Liverpool with Salah.
Seems quite ridiculous to me that they would value the club world cup seemingly more than La Liga, but I guess FIFA's corrupt prize money is doing a lot to motivate clubs for what would otherwise be treated as a pre-season tournament. Not really ideal for England if he is out for a prolonged time, we should still have enough to get past Serbia, but given how little time Tuchel has with the squad, and how one of his main tasks is building that midfield 3, missing the bulk of the few games we'd have next season would be unfortunate.
Real Madrid’s history with the CL wouldn’t allow them to not do their best to win the Club World Cup.
It took till the 92nd min for Man City bring on Jack Grealish and use an English player tonight. Meanwhile in the 73rd minute Lewis Cook was sent off. All 3 scorers for Palace English tonight with Ben Chilwell and Eberechi Eze joining Eddie Nketiah on the score sheet.
Might be good for Bellingham to miss Serbia away. In these Eastern block countries they're very raucous. I could imagine himself getting caught up in the heat of the moment and getting sent off
He said that Olise taught him. Trent plays Chess as well. I wonder if the two of them played together at the Euros last year.
Pep says he will quit unless Man City reduce the amount of players they have https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/articles/c5ykk83y74no Probably not good for their number of English players. Could end up down to just Foden, O’Reilly and maybe Lewis and/or Gibbs-White. Grealish and McAtee are surely off while Stones and Lewis could go. England are set to play in a tiny 8,000-seater stadium when they visit Serbia in September. (The Sun) Jamie Vardy has been linked with a shock move to FA Cup winners Crystal Palace. (The Sun)
I expect tuchel to name a changed squad on Friday with the under 21s and world club Cup. Maybe a few names that we didn't expect. Maybe Harvey Barnes?
The only player I could see him not calling up because of the Club World Cup, is Trent if he moves to Madrid before hand. And the only 21s player from the last squad I don't see him calling up is Trafford and Quansah (and maybe Livramento).
I’m not so sure about Trafford. I could see him being involved and joining the U21’s late. Tuchel out him on the bench for both natches ahead of Ramsdale in March.
Seems like we are treading over old territory with this but.... He ain't playing against Andorra, what logical reason would there be for him to join the U21s late? when he won't play in the Senegal match because its a day before the 21s first tournament match.
