They will do, unfortunately. They got so unbelievably lucky with the timing of that Liverpool game. Liverpool's first game after winning the league and spending the week celebrating. When Van Dijk scored to pull one back he celebrated like he's scored in a pre-season friendly, without even a sniff of urgency. Game was basically handed on a platter to Chelsea.
Let’s hope that at least the FA won’t be succeeding Tuchel with him next summer based on his experience with English players at youth and senior level.
I think forest have blown their chance of champions league football. They'd need to win both games and hope City villa or Chelsea don't win one more. Its better that way because forest wouldn't last long in the league phase. Europa League is a good fit for them
Apparently Amorim has a worse points ratio than Paul Jewell when he went down with Derby. Makes me curious as to know how Southgate would have been received if he had got the job and had a similar season. I bet he would be out of the job by now….
‘Mason Mount could have played his way into contention for the Europa League final after impressing in only his third PL start of the year. 'I think he gives a balance to our team. He's really, really good and a really, really important player for our team. I'm delighted to have a guy like him again. I feel that this team is more balanced with him in it.' ‘
Liverpool are set to rival Real Madrid and Barcelona for £60m-rated Crystal Palace and England midfielder Adam Wharton, 21. (Daily Mail - subscription required, external) Chelsea, meanwhile, have a shortlist of potential centre-back signings, including 22-year-old Englishman Jarrad Branthwaite of Everton, and England international Marc Guehi, 24, at Crystal Palace. (Sky Sports, external) But Guehi is ready to run down his contract to land a dream move to Barcelona or Real Madrid. (Sun) Leeds are targeting Newcastle striker Callum Wilson. (The Times) England up creek without a padel The FA has identified three potential training bases for England’s World Cup campaign in the United States, Canada and Mexico next year but sadly for the head coach, Thomas Tuchel, none has a padel court. The padel court at England’s Euro 2024 base was used heavily by England staff — Gareth Southgate and the England kit man Pat Frost won the staff tournament — and Tuchel is also a big fan of the racket game. The huge distances involved in next year’s tournament mean it is difficult to plan without knowing where England will be playing group matches, so the FA may buy options on a couple of training bases and then sell the less favourable one to another country once the draw is made. https://www.thetimes.com/sport/foot...radical-offside-reforms-doubt-trial-g68bmlsc8
The fade. The turn. The delivery. Reece James has an IQ of 150% pic.twitter.com/xAcbruFtsi— Shak, MD 🩺 (@realbig_shak) May 16, 2025 Still maintain he’s our most talented player just a shame about the injuries.
Desperately want Spurs to win on Wednesday. United winning will give them the ability to go out and somewhat rearm in the summer and I fear they’d try and go for some English players like Wharton for example. I don’t want any of our prospects going anywhere near there with the state they are in. It’s already bad enough that one basket case club in Chelsea is going to have CL money to use on buying another collection of players, last thing we need is to have another.
Come on Palace. 5 English starters for them. Only 1 for city. Want Adam Wharton to dominate the city midfield
Henderson, Guehi, Mitchell, Eze and Wharton start for Crystal Palace. Ward, Hughes, Esse, Clyne, Nketiah and Chilwell are on the bench. O’Reilly starts for Manchester City. Foden and Grealish are on the bench. Surely now pretty decent odds on the next squad having no Man United or Man City players.
Will be disappointed if you don’t at least mention it once during the game that someone has impressed in front of Tuchel, Southgate and Hodgson today
