Why is it every time we have a decent player on the books we get all this pony! The Spanish press are even worse that the English press for making up bullsh*t and that is really saying something! The Spanish press is almost as vile as its football clubs.
Watched the Villa game and as someone who has not seen much of them either this season or just generally under Emery, what struck me was how 100mph their football was. Seemed similar to Klopp’s Liverpool at their peak, in that they were very direct, with a desire to attack as quickly as possible and either play the final pass or shoot as early as possible. I do wonder whether that’s why similar to how Liverpool would have dips under Klopp, Villa have had one recently. As exciting as that style is when it works, it seems unsustainable over a long season, particularly in this day and age with the schedule as it is. I do think it suits Roger’s perfectly though and gets the best out of the profile of player he is.

1866793199085224361 is not a valid tweet id We'd better hope that the restructuring of Chelsea's academy that Clearlake thought was so necessary is a success. Cobham has really done wonders for the England senior team in the last decade.
Our academy has to be one of the top ones in England. We've produced about 8 or 9 youth players in our squad. Not to mention Adam Wharton
In terms of the resources we have yeah, we're definitely up there. We share a catchment area with City, United and Liverpool so we mainly get the B/C level prospects from the area but we do a great job. It's possible that someone like Rankin-Costello, who has hardly any athletic ability for a wide player/midfielder, would be a League Two/non-league player if he'd come through at a lesser academy. Instead he's a top half Championship player who can play multiple roles to a good level.
Hayden Carter could be an epl player one day. He's only 24 but he's had a good season till his injury
