Mbappe needs to stop trying to steal the limelight. Needs to step aside and defer to Bellingham more, he’s not the leader of this team.

Intense speculation is mounting that former England football captain David Beckham will finally be knighted after growing close to the King in recent months. (Daily Mirror)

Free agent Dele is said to be unhappy after suffering another injury setback. (The Sun)

England defender Harry Maguire, 31, is attracting attention from several Premier League clubs amid uncertainty over his situation at Manchester United. (Football Insider)

Amorim: “Since I arrive I see Luke Shaw working a lot in the gym and working a lot on the pitch. If he continues that behaviour, he is a top player and we need him“. "We control the load during the games and trainings, he was losing weight, doing everything right”.

Rúben Amorim on Luke Shaw: “No matter how long he needs to return, I will be with him”. “We will help him to return. Not just Man United, but your national team needs a guy like Luke Shaw, so we are here to help him”.

Maresca: “ Noni Madueke has to understand he has to train every day good”. “He has to be ambitious. He scored one, he has to go for the second and the third. He has to give more assists. He has to work more because he can be much, much, much better”.

Rúben Amorim: “My effect on Rashford? A new coach is always like that, but there is so much to improve”. “He can do so much better. We all have to improve. But it was a great job from the players”.

Interesting that Noni got player of the match yet he was taken down a peg or two by his manager after the game. Probably clearly knows what he’s capable of achieving and wants more from him to get to that next level.

Lumley, Walker-Peters, Harwood-Bellis, Bree, Wood, Downes, Dibling, Armstrong and Archer start for Southampton. McCarthy, Edwards, Taylor and Amo-Ameyaw are on the bench.

Lewis-Potter starts for Brentford. Mee, Trevitt and Maghoma are on the bench.
Pope, Hall, Livramento, Burn. Barnes, Murphy and Longstaff start for Newcastle. Trippier, Targett, Kelly, Wilson and Gordon are on the bench.

Henderson, Guehi, Chalobah, Mitchell, Hughes and Eze start for Crystal Palace. Ward, Clyne and Nketiah are on the bench.
Walker and Lewis start for Manchester City. Carson, Simpson-Pusey, Wilson-Esbrand, Grealish, Wright, O’Reilly and McAtee are on the bench.

9 English starters for Southampton! Incredibly high for this day and age for any PL team.

Anthony Gordon has been dopped to the bench for Newcastle. Gittens, Raahford or Sancho to take his squad spot come March?

Howe's said it's just giving him a break, as he was fatigued after the Liverpool match.

So Grealish puts in a stellar display in midfield the other night, but gets rewarded with a spot on the bench today. But Gundogan, who has been awful all season, starts yet again. Pep is baffling sometimes.

It's crazy how many times we've seen Walker make the exact same error in the last 12 months. I know they've got a lack of options but it's crazy to see how much faith Pep still has in him. Same as Klopp with Henderson at the back end of his time with Liverpool.

When Walker inevitably leaves City at the end of the season, I can't see there being many suitors for him at the top level, other than maybe Sheffield United. He'll almost certainly make a dramatic step down from City.

He has been linked with Saudi Arabia a lot and probably more likely than a return to Sheffield United.

I don't even think he'd be a worthwhile investment for a Saudi Club, not at all. Wouldn't be worth the inevitably huge wage packet.

Agreed, as you know I’ve been a big fan of his over the years but now it’s time for him to be moved on. Was actually on X discussing with other City fans blaming Lewis for that goal but as far as I’m concerned he did little wrong, he was in line with his centre backs which is what he should be doing when defending the line and if Walker wasn’t in a World of his own and doing his job, Munoz would have been offside, really can’t blame Lewis for doing what he should be doing.

It's just harsher on Lewis in general too because he's young and playing out of position. The mistakes Walker is making aren't really ones you can blame on physical decline. It's really basic stuff that he's just not doing.
