What is Gordon doing with his pressing? Letting people get past him rather than closing the space.

That looked like a penalty. Surely bringing someone down in the area whether he was getting yo the ball is a penalty

I don't think Gordon is going to do long term. He's not powerful enough and doesn't have the 1v1 ability to take a game by the scruff of the neck at this level. Doesn't have the goalscoring instincts of someone like Sterling either.

Edit: the latter is quite harsh, he gets in good positions a lot but he doesn't finish well enough.

I feel like someone is getting sent off tonight but it might be us or Greece,

Probably Gallagher's best showing in an England shirt for me. No shock he looks better without Rice (not a put down of Rice).

Jones has done well but my issue with him over Gomes as the deepest midfielder is that he's a bit too passive at times. He needs to get on the ball a bit more. Done very well when he's had it though.

This team is almost perfect. The absence of so many players does not show in the performance at all. There is finally balance, midfield is very effective, also Watkins is taylor made for these kind of games. It maybe surprising for some, but we only need one of Bellingham, Foden or Palmer.

Gallagher has had a good game but he only needs one of his brain fart moments to kill the game

Good half considering the circumstances, I’d halve liked to see more control in the second half of the half were we went lojjg and lost it a lot but we weren’t exactly helped by the ref giving a foul every time a Greek player went to ground.

Still need to find a second goal it clearly there’s opportunities with bettter quality in attack.

I don’t mind a CF screwing up a 1v1 but Watkins’ hold up play is not good enough to start games in this team. It just creates massive issues in the centre of the pitch. Maybe if we have a playmaker type wide it can be compensated for.

I get that his workrate is useful up top. That has worked. So, it is not all bad.

Shame Grealish is injured because my first change would be Grealish for Gordon.

The ref has been awful. Barely a genuine foul and we have four players booked.

Not a bad half considering how many are missing.

Have to be careful in this second half though, this ref is determined to send a player off and most likely one of ours. Midfield has been pretty good which is encouraging, Jones and Gallagher been bright.

He’s a school teacher so discipline is right down his alley presumably and probably why Bellingham got booked for his silly rant. Gallaghers was a ridiculous yellow though!

Hall on for Konsa is mental. Walker is not a CB in a two.

    Bonkers,

Maybe an injury? If so that means Harwood - Bellis on Sunday maybe.

Has to be an injury but if you call up Harwood-Bellis and he doesn’t come on in this circumstance? He shouldn’t be in the squad.

I really get the sense that the FA just don't care about this competition. It seems like the coach just has license to experiment, and it was the same with Southgate. The 4-0 against Hungary was considered no big deal all around.
