"They don't look very good" 😬Mikel Arteta on Saka and Rice's injuries 🗣 pic.twitter.com/iAaZZdCIGb— Sky Sports Premier League (@SkySportsPL) November 10, 2024 Arteta doesn't expect Rice and Saka to be fit for international duty.— Miguel Delaney (@MiguelDelaney) November 10, 2024
The FA are going to have to put their foot down sometime and refuse to bow down otherwise I sure come tomorrow we getting about 8 withdrawals and nowhere near that many replacements. There is speculation on social media that Bellingham won’t come if Trent is not there. Expect we going to get Gallagher and Gomes playing together. I honestly think we might lose both matches.
100%. The FA and media never call clubs out because club fans then turn on the media and a club v country row will only be won by the clubs if push come to shove - the PFA want an international football strike and the FA is fearful of triggering one.
It’s just people joking based on their friendship and the whispers about Bellingham not being as friendly with anyone else.
We'll get a load of withdrawals with it being Carsley's last game as caretaker. Can't imagine we'd have so many likely withdrawals under Tuchel. At least Rice is pretty much an ever present internationally so missing one isn't so bad. Saka is a bad case of Arteta repeatedly overplaying him and expecting him to drop out of international camps though as his only form of rest. Last season he missed two of the four camps and it still apparently wasn't enough. Too many managers think they have absolutely zero responsibility to the players. No doubt with no breaks from November to March, Arteta will be satisfied to run him into the ground before expecting him to drop out with a nebulous injury.
Hopefully not but March is always the least popular international break with clubs so it be that factor vs impressing the new boss.

I very much doubt that will happen even if the greedy PFA would try to sanction it. It would just make them look like the greedy idiots they are! Players don’t even directly pay them, all their greed comes from TV money which they conned out of the FA.
You were for months insistent that Gallagher was never going to even be called up again, and that moving to Atletico was the death knell for his international career!
Bukayo Saka and Declan Rice join list of injury doubts for England Arsenal pair could withdraw from Lee Carsley’s Nations League squad, while Chelsea’s Cole Palmer also ‘in pain’ after Stamford Bridge draw Lee Carsley faces a spate of stars withdrawing through injury from the England squad for the Nations League matches this week. Bukayo Saka and Declan Rice have been rated as unlikely to be fit by Arsenal and Cole Palmer and Anthony Gordon are doubts when the squad reports on Monday. Manchester City’s Jack Grealish and Kyle Walker are also doubtful for the matches away to Greece, on Thursday, and home to Ireland, three day later, while Trent Alexander-Arnold is definitely out. Saka suffered a muscle injury in a tackle with Marc Cucurella and was substituted late on in Arsenal’s 1-1 draw with Chelsea on Sunday. Rice was replaced on 71 minutes at Stamford Bridge after the midfielder broke a toe last week. Palmer recovered from an issue to his left knee but the attacking midfielder was limping and in “pain” at full time, according to Enzo Maresca, the Chelsea head coach. Gordon, the Newcastle United winger, has a hip injury and Alexander-Arnold, the Liverpool full back, is out with a hamstring problem. Mikel Arteta said that he expected Saka and Rice, his Arsenal players, would be likely to have to pull out. “It doesn’t look good, because for two players of that importance to tell you they cannot continue in the game, obviously it’s not good news,” Arteta, the Arsenal manager, said. “I don’t know whether to expect them to be fit because if not, they don’t come off.” https://www.thetimes.com/sport/foot...n-list-of-injury-doubts-for-england-0r8b29cd7 Walker might withdraw now as well. Surely Livramento will be promoted back up then?
I expected him to be dropped from the first two Carsley squads. I am skeptical if he will be involved under Tuchel.
Solanke is also now an injury doubt. https://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/news/england-injuries-carsley-saka-rice-34079973 Wonder if Walker - Peters could be Trent’s replacement as he was on standby in September. Toney for a Solanke replacement?
Trent Alexander-Arnold set to be sidelined for a couple of weeks with a hamstring injury. Avoided more serious damage by coming off early against Aston Villa. Not ruled out of Southampton on Nov 24 ahead of Real Madrid [Nov 27] and Man City [Dec 1] games. More @TimesSport— paul joyce (@_pauljoyce) November 11, 2024
I haven't been following the Reece James dialogue but is he not going to be a factor until he's much more of a sure thing physically?
