Henderson on the bench for Ajax. No English starter for Manchester United. Amass, Mount, Rashford, Heaton, Fitzgerald and Wheatley are on the bench. Shoretire is on the bench for PAOK Maitland - Niles on the bench for Lyon. Adarabioyo and George start for Chelsea. Rak - Sakyi, Chukwuemeka, Merrick, Drewsbury - Hall and Madueke are on the bench,
Ah right, so unlikely to still hold that opinion now, after since making the vast majority of his pro mins in the PL and UCL in that position!
He’s scoring some classy goals in the last few days. Is a comeback on the cards? 👀Dominic Solanke with a smooth back-heel finish to pull a goal back for Tottenham 👏✨📺 @tntsports & @discoveryplusUK pic.twitter.com/a9JWBnYdEF— Football on TNT Sports (@footballontnt) November 7, 2024
✨ pic.twitter.com/Ze8tj96IqW— England (@England) November 7, 2024 Seven players that started the U21 Euro finals are now in this squad. Smith-Rowe also capped and Trafford has previously made a squad.
Had no idea he was married to Roy Keane's daughter. I can't imagine that Keane wouldn't just speak his mind though.
Hopefully this ends up like that German U21 team from 2009? that beat us in the final and 5 years later a lot of the players ended up winning the World Cup.
Feels a bit like a reward for turning out to so many under 21 camps over the years. Really can't see how he would be in consideration otherwise. He had a very torrid start to the season, though not helped by Southampton's tactics. Seems to have improved in recent weeks but still needs to prove himself as premier league quality yet alone England standard. Tomori certainly has his flaws and issues but there can't have been to many players in recent years who can feel more hard done by, given the quality of players he's been bypassed by despite being a regular at a good quality Champions League side.
Yeah, Harwood-Bellis is a surprise and I don’t think anyone saw this coming did they? I mean, I like him but would have kept him with the U21’s for now, not sure he’s ready for this step up just yet. I doubt he will play and presumably there for the experience but what other fit players for his position are available? Dunk, Tomori, Kilman, Quansah, Tosin?
I didn't even comment on this squad because Carsley is leaving after this camp, but there are numerous players who quite clearly don't deserve to be there. It feels like Carsley has picked both THB and MGW with a heavy emphasis on his personal relationship with the two, which given he knows he's leaving after this game, is not that surprising.
If Forest keep up their form and have no one in the March squad their fans will be among the loudest critics of Tuchel. Already the majority of comments about this squad are complaints that Ryan Yates is not in it. Through I can’t wait for the reaction to the likes of Dier or Mount getting recalled. That will be fun to see.
They seem to be. He is very popular with Forest fans and it is the case that non Big 6 fans are more interested in their players getting international call ups.
I find it odd that they are kicking off about Yates not being in the squad. I could understand it more if it was Hudson-Odoi however.
Hudson - Odoi gets a bit more of a mixed reception. Some of their fans were arguing very strongly for him to be involved but others were saying they don’t think he would deserve it just yet.
‘Manchester United confirm Luke Shaw is back in training. Shaw will work towards full fitness during the international break with his return to action expected in the coming weeks.’ I don’t really see him being involved much under Tuchel through. Hall is the frontrunner to be the main starter. .
Probably not just because he can’t string two games together without being injured would probably be the biggest factor sadly.
Certainly engaged to Leah Keane, if possibly not yet married. https://www.instagram.com/p/C86qoOXs4-J4ZYb_eNI2k5LZA6qajWDGVgIJnI0/?img_index=1
