Walker back starting and therefore probably in the squad next week. Gibbs - White also back and able to be selected. Jones dropped again.

 

John Stones seems to have been ruled out the next England matches.

Chalobah might get his chance now perhaps. Imagine we getting Guehi and Colwill starting with Trent or Lewis at left back alongside one of those or Walker at right bac against Greece,
Branthwaite doesn’t seem fully fit if he is only on the bench for Everton.

Walker might be washed lads.

 

He really should be persuaded to retire for England and go with some dignity.

 

Personally I think it's commendable that he makes himself available. Doesn't have to, obviously loves playing for England. If he's not selected so be it, doesn't have to retire if he doesn't want to.

 

He nearly retired in 2021 - Southgate said he persuaded him not to.

It's hard to make a case for him when he's getting rinsed for pace on a weekly basis. No-one was picking him for his brain.

I think it would be hard for Carsley - even for his last squad, to gr5 away without a rapper left back on Thursday. Hall and Davis are both getting a lot of shouts.

 

Not sure Dizzee Rascal will be available and not sure he’s a left back.
