They want him gone, A new contract would be just for them to get a higher price. They would still be spending all month trying to sell him,

That’s why he will fall very quickly out of contention like the likes of Loftus + Cheek. Particularly with the two front runners for manager job both not being fans of him at all.

(Mirror), external Everton could be forced to sell England defender Jarrad Branthwaite, 22, below their asking price to avoid any cashflow issues. (Football Insider) Erik ten Hag has suggested Manchester United could start the new Premier League season with Jadon Sancho as a makeshift striker after admitting new signing Joshua Zirkzee will take time to get up to speed. (Daily Telegraph) Joe Gomez remains committed to Liverpool and is focused on emerging as a key player under the new head coach, Arne Slot. (The Times)
Arsenal are being really greedy with what they're asking for Nketiah imo. He's 25 and has played something like 4.5k league minutes his whole career, that's barely two seasons of football. I really like him as a player and think he's a potential England international but you're not getting £40m for a 25-year-old without a body of evidence to prove he can perform over the course of a whole season. They're probably just going to end up losing him for even less than Marseille were offering to buy him for in a year's time.

Surely you could have come up with a better example to back up your already flimsy narrative than Loftus Cheek! He's not challenging Pickford, he simply not as good a keeper.
Can Pickford play well in whatever style of football some of the new managers would use. I’m not sure he is that far ahead that some managers would think Ramsdale, Henderson, Pope or Trafford could fit the playing style better.
I don't know when, but at some point in the next three years I don't think either Pickford or Ramsdale will be England's number one. I still think Trafford is an extremely high-ceiling keeper, but even then I think at least one of Beadle, Rushworth or Tickle will become very good.
Logically they would have to become established in the PL. They all capable of doing so but it’s hard for Goalkeepers to make it in the PL. We wouldn’t have expected Trafford to have struggled last year at Burnley.to the extent he did.
In theory a move to Atletico Madrid is perfect for Gallagher. It’s a bit like when Jordan Henderson ended up working with Klopp. Refined his game and role. I know Henderson had his critics but this did make him a much more effective player. We don’t have many options that actually offer what Gallagher does. In the right set up he is a perfect squad option. Whatever happens Gallagher will not struggle for motivation playing CL football for a coach that completely suits him. Can’t really think of a more suitable move for him.
Told Conor Gallagher made his final decision to join Atletico Madrid ONE MINUTE before the weekend deadline imposed by the Spanish club. Personal terms on a 5-year contract agreed in principle. #CFC #AtleticoMadrid— Dharmesh Sheth (@skysports_sheth) August 5, 2024
Brighton fans are saying Rushworth might start the season as their no.1 with the injury to their Dutch keeper. Trafford struggled because he jumped straight from one season in League One to the PL. Beadle, for example, is about to have his second season in the Championship. He'll be way more ready for the PL next season, when someone will likely take a gamble on him.
I see nothing from Ramsdale to suggest he'd be above Pickford regardless of the style of football the new manager may use
chelsea sold a guy who had played nothing to Ipswich for a larger fee we want 30 mill for a striker who has scored goals in the prem and will in France why should we sell him for less than he’s worth? Same as ramsdale, he would start for half the league and is a potential England number 1 down the line (if he stops conceding at his near post)
Yeah, Diego Simeone loves midfielders who work tirelessly to win back possession and break quickly on the counter, so it’s easy to see why he wanted Conor Gallagher. If he can instil some discipline and control into Gallagher’s high energy game and hopefully improve his technical ability to keep the ball under pressure, then this move could really prove dividends for England.
Hutchinson went for £25m didn't he? He's also 20 years old, part of what they're paying for there is the potential ceiling. That's what young players go for these days. What I'd read was that Arsenal wanted £50m for Nketiah initially but £40m if it's a club abroad. If it's £30m it's a bit more reasonable but still a big fee. I'm not doubting Nketiah's quality, I like him a lot, but there is no proof of whether or not he can deliver consistently across a season or even stay fit across a season. Having played so few minutes at his age is a bit of a red flag for prospective buyers.
The most premier league goals he's scored in a season is 5. I'd say his goalscoring ability is actually very up for debate at senior level, given he continually underperforms expected goals.
I still don't believe we should shut the door completely on Greenwood. If he scores a shit load of goals for marseille he should be under consideration
His ability as a footballer should not be part of the equation. He wasn't banished because he can't kick a ball.
There is very little chance he gets back in. He would have to address what he did. Doubt England would touch him with barge pole.
No manager is going to touch Greenwood, even if they wanted to it'd be an absolute PR nightmare where they'd almost certainly have to backtrack. Look at the David Goodwillie situation, and that was in Scottish lower league football. There's also a reason the team he's gone to abroad is Marseille. He's not actually THAT good.
