he likes a 4231... perhaps something like this. ------------------------Kane ------Gordon---------Jude-------------Saka ----------------Angel---------Rice Shaw------Chilwell---Stones-----Trent If Jude can learn to play in a double pivot and sit deeper alla Pogba for France in 2018 it would really open space up for one of Foden and Palmer to start.
Reece James at right back for sure ahead of Trent. Maybe the return of Chilwell at left back. What odds on the hatrick of his English Chelsea Cl winners with Mount back as well? https://www.coachesvoice.com/cv/thomas-tuchel-jurgen-klopp-chelsea-dortmund-psg/ This is a good summary.
he likes a 3 at the back as well as a 4231 not sure who he would prefer in terms of wide players and attacking mids
3 at the back could work especially in a 3421 alla Leverkusun. can Lewis play as a LWB? Again here I have Jude in 2 with Rice which may not work so you may have to push him up where Palmer is and bring in Angel and then just bring Palmer Grealish Foden off the bench. With Trent and Lewis providing the width you can really make use of playing two number 10s behind the striker when you sub Saka off. ----------------------------Kane ----------------Palmer-----------Saka Lewis----------Jude----------Rice---------Trent -----------Chilwell----Stones---Walker
Possible England XI under Thomas Tuchel 4-2-3-1: Pickford; James, Stones, Guehi, Colwill; Rice, Bellingham; Saka, Palmer, Gordon; Kane https://www.independent.co.uk/sport/football/thomas-tuchel-england-predicted-lineup-b2629592.html Some other Possible England XL’s Pickford, Guehi, Stones, Dier, Loftus - Cheek, Rice, Trent. Chilwell, Mount, Kane, Bellingham Pickford, Maguire, Stones, Dier, James, Mount, Rice, Chilwell. Bellingham, Kane, Foden https://www.thesun.co.uk/sport/31039991/england-thomas-tuchel-line-up-manager-mason-mount/
I think pretty much any coach would have James as first choice if he's fit - it's just that huge "if". He may not be as outrageously creative as Trent going forward but he's still very effective, and he's levels better defensively.
What a phenomenal appointment, best we’ve made in years. Yes he isn’t English but he’s one of the most tactically astute managers out there. He’s won the Champions League FFS. Maybe a bit defensive at times but my word I am optimistic we’ve gone for the best possible candidate to end our trophy drought.
I think it’s pointless predicting lineups and based on absolutely nothing. Other than Kane who Tuchel signed, I don’t see many of those players playing. James is never fit so that ain’t happening, Chilwell never plays so that ain’t either, and no idea why they think Dier and Mount will get back in as neither of them are doing anything to get in the England side. It will probably be much of the existing squad with 1-2 changes, at least to start with.
Doer was good for him at Bayern but now he is not playing he probably out of form. I don’t think he is like some players who can keep their form even as bench options. Dier has played 31 minutes all season so far.
I also don't know why everyone is so sure he'll play three at the back. We don't really have the midfielders to make a two-man midfield work. Tuchel had prime Kanté and prime Jorginho when he did it at Chelsea.
There are some. Gomes, Jones, Mainoo all could go with Rice. Even Bellinghamcould be used maybe. Might not work thriugh.
Better than Southgate for sure but I 'phenomenal' I don't think so, not the best appointment we could have made (& I am a Chelsea supporter) but there again throughout the whole of football history the useless 'suits' never do make the best appointment out there.
Could have been a lot worse for sure...........could have been a lot better too though, at least he has some resemblance of actual competence, lets face it Southgate and Carsley have absolute zero record of success in domestic football, in fact I say England has gotten to these 2 finals and won the U21 Euro's despite the managers and not because of them. I think they're both nice guys but somewhat 'lacking' in the managerial department.
I'm saying Portugal are underachieving now under martinez as with the talent they have they should be doing better. He's an awful coach
