From the coefficient perspective, we could do with Barca holding on here and knocking out Napoli. Italy is currently ahead of England so need a few of their teams to start getting eliminated.

Ten Hag was always going to run Shaw into the ground after getting rid of Reguilon. Maybe we get fortunate with the timing of the return.

He needs to close down that player for the goal. Not sure what he’s thinking there.

The goalkeepers positioning looks very weird though. Don’t normally see that in the CL knockout stages.

I think they have a good chance of winning back home in Barcelona. Ditto Arsenal can still come from behind to knock out Porto.

The last three Euros have featured players doing the CL/Euro double that season. Not since Spain in 2008 as a team won the euros without a player/s winning the CL a month earlier.

West Ham are eyeing a move for Bournemouth's 26-year-old England striker Dominic Solanke. (Telegraph - subscription required)

But the Blues are not entertaining offers for 20-year-old England defender Levi Colwill, who is a target for Paris St-Germain and Liverpool. (Standard)

Everton midfielder James Garner is being targeted by Tottenhamand Newcastle, with the 22-year-old Englishman appealing in many aspects for the Premier League sides. (Football Insider)

Harry Kane is reportedly at the centre of a dressing room chasm at Bayern Munich as Thomas Tuchel's reign in Bavaria crumbles. (Daily Mail)

Joe Hart is retiring at the end of the season. James Milner is the last member of the 2010 World Cup squad still playing.

Maybe we can get some sort of closure on 2010 now. From Rob Green’s USA howler to Rooney mouthing off at England fans after the Algeria draw, and the final woeful, gutless performance against Germany, that was one brutally bad World Cup for us

I can’t see him on the bench. Not fit enough to be involved apparently.

The comments on social media were wrong then. The account only had the starters with people underneath saying he was on the bench.

Dutch football is very secretive about injuries so we won’t find out why is unfit to be involved or how long he might be absent for.

Sorry to go back to this but I had a look on that forum and he's actually called himself 'Foden1981' on an Irish forum and is indeed telling them how crap Moran is!

Germany is more vulnerable to being caught. Stuttgart eliminated in the Conference League last night with Friberg sneaking through in the Europa.

United and Newcastle crashing out of the CL has been a big blow for English chances but I suspect they will come second in the end.

Those tackle stats are pretty underwhelming to say the least. Harrison Reed completes less than 1 tackle every 90 minutes and he's being put forward as a potential England defensive midfielder?

I'm 100% sure, that Reed is not considered for England. He is not an international player by default, but this year he is no longer a regular starter for his club team either.

England centre-back Harry Maguire, 30, is among 11 players who could be part of a squad clearout at Manchester United this summer. (ESPN)

Tottenham and England defender Eric Dier, 30, is unlikely to stay at Bayern Munich beyond the summer with the German side concerned about his lack of pace. (Bild via Mail)

It’s a totally odd player to name when they are other midfielders that were not named but are closer to being selected in an injury crisis.

Curtis Jones will return for Liverpool ‘around the international break.’ Probably too late to be selected by Southgate.

TAA will not be back until after the international break so will be ruled out of the next squad it seems. Really don’t see Southgate bringing in two midfielders so I don’t see Phillips being dropped with Trent also absent

If Phillips' form and game time continues as it is now it'll be genuinely interesting to see if Southgate calls him up in March.

I'm always very skeptical about Southgate myself and I always expect him to do the most regressive thing when faced with a big decision, but even with Trent & Jones injured there's a big part of me that thinks he won't call Phillips up.

I don't think this is comparable to the Maguire situation in that he was a constant in England's starting XI and very much a stalwart for Southgate even throughout his poor club form. Phillips hasn't been anything close to a guaranteed starter for nearly three years now so picking him under these conditions would arguably be his most unjustifiable selection yet.*

I might be wrong, but I think even Southgate has a line with these things.

*It's also worth saying that I think if Phillips improves to a point where he can put in three or four 6/10 performances without a glaring error before the next squad announcement I think that'll be enough to get him in there, so it's a fine margin nevertheless.
