Anthony Gordon definitely in that conversation about England's best option on the left....— Adrian Durham (@TheAdrianDurham) September 24, 2023

As we've seen with Harvey Barnes, Che Adams and Agus Gunn players rarely just jump to Scotland from England at an early age when they haven't had any prior youth experience with Scotland. It would likely take quite a few years of England snubbing him before Gordon thought about Scotland. We can't just cap every dual national when there's a minor threat of another nation poaching them.
Micah Richards has predicted Nick Pope will be the starting goalkeeper at the Euros next year and will upsup Pickford, Ramsdale and Johnstone. https://www.chroniclelive.co.uk/spo...news/newcastle-star-nick-pope-backed-27774111
Ramsdale surpassed Pope, obviously his situation at Arsenal is key but if Pickford isn't the number one the only option it will be Ramsdale
Even if Pickford is injured Rasmdale would probably remain the firs5 choice cover unless p it become unviable to select him. And even then I think Southgate could well decide Johnstone/ D Henderson (If he surpasses Johnstone at some point this season) or Trafford could be a better emergency number 1 than Pope.
He's having a laugh surely? The only player more certain of place than Harry maguire is Jordan Pickford.
Surely Harry Kane is even more certain. And I wouldn’t be surprised if Southgate does phase Maguire out by the Euros. We know he likes him but he looks to have phased out others he likes like Mount and Sterling and before that Dier (Twice) and Dele because their club form was/is bad. 🗣️ "You know when someone loses the Oscar and they start clapping and smiling for the other person" 🥲@Carra23 on Ramsdale's reaction to that Raya save... pic.twitter.com/5zpGgjZBAf— Sky Sports Premier League (@SkySportsPL) September 24, 2023
Yeah, I kinda don’t think Maguire is a guaranteed starter anymore. I can see Southgate preferring Dunk if he continues to capitalise on the next couple of opportunities he gets. Wouldn’t shock me that much if he went with Dunk/Guehi against Italy next month with Stones out.
I think for Italy he will stick Maguire with Guehi but once Stones is back phase Maguire out, Not sure he fully ready to go without either Stones or Maguire for a match against Italy ar Wembley. Particularly with Shaw out and maybe Rice as well.
Maybe, but I think Stones/Maguire is more likely than Stones/Guehi. I think I’m big games he wants a huge physical presence which is why I think it’s between Maguire and Dunk.
Newcastle boss Eddie Howe says Anthony Gordon could be on England boss Gareth Southgate's radar after his fine performance in the 8-0 romp at Sheffield Unitedhttps://t.co/9ARsXBpmHc— PA Dugout (@PAdugout) September 25, 2023
The reaction towards Maguire is only going to get more hostile I suspect through. Complaining about the booing (Which did come from some England fans at Hampden) could well only make more people boo
Mount injured & not in form before. Rashford form streaky, doesn't track. Foden not exclusively left, sterling plays right, wasn't in last squad, Grealish just back from injury. Gordon is eng u21 euro winner, playing well in PL/CL so I'd be surprised if he's not in the discussion— Adrian Durham (@TheAdrianDurham) September 25, 2023 Foden can play left right and centre, sterling usually on the right, Mount is injured, and Rashford form is streaky. You forgot Grealish who was back from injury Saturday. Surely you think an u21 euros winner with England playing Prem and CL this season is in the discussion?— Adrian Durham (@TheAdrianDurham) September 25, 2023
Why are you posting tweets from Adrian Durham, his opinion is worthless. I've seen some awful sources/tweets in this thread but that takes the biscuit.
Wasn't so much the content, haven't listened to the man on the radio for years, but unless he's completely changed his tuned, he's is a complete shock jock.
He’s an odd person who supports England at Football but hates the England rugby team and supports Wales because his P.E teacher at school was Welsh……..utterly bizarre.
