Senegal look very good so far, certainly a team to avoid. A very solid defence and lightning quick breaks can take a team a long way. Early days for France but feels like they'd benefit from a 3rd central midfielder in there because they're getting ragdolled in the middle at the moment
What was the Rob Key one and can’t remember the Aussie bowler. The bowler, ‘ why are you so fat ‘? To which Key replied ‘ because everytime I shag your wife she gives me a biscuit’.
England could play the 3rd place finisher of Group I (France/Norway/Senegal) in the Round of 32 of Round of 16.
Also really unconvinced by Mbappe as a centre forward. He's always been lethal for France on that pretty much free role on the left where he can do essentially what he wants and gets the most out of his lethal pace. He doesn't offer anywhere near enough as a centre forward in conventional centre forward play and also nerfs his ability to use his pace. The best France Deschamps teams always had Giroud as a focal point for the rest of the side to play off. They had a lot of similar issues with Mbappe in the Euro's playing centrally.
You know they were saying Frances second team could win the world cup......well maybe they should play them.
Was it? I always thought it was Rob Key, or that’s what I got told. Thought it was Glenn McGrath though, committed on the wrong one. edit: should have just googled it instead as it’s there. Lol
Rooney is a pretty bad pundit, he's probably got a job for life on the BBC, now that's he failed as a manager.
Olise looked woeful on that Senegal chance. Can see his runner but reacts too late and then is in an awful position to do anything.
Mbappé simply isn't a cemtre forward imo. It's like forcing Rashford to play up top. And they're desperately missing Cherki, their most technically gifted midfielder.
France look unbalanced they should play Dembele at CF Mbappe at LW Olisse RW and Cherki as a 10 in front of the double pivot. They need a creator.
