Oh true, only watching it on Magenta because I find the commentators in ARD/ZDF a bit annoying but could have figured myself they would´t be showing any in the ÖRR:thumbsup:

Spain look like they lack creativity without Yamal and Williams. I know they have a lot of passers of the ball but they don't have anyone who can commit people in midfield. Having Yamal and Williams fit is absolutely crucial to Spain winning it. I think even without Yamal and Williams they can get to at least a semi final though

I remember in 2010, Spain lost their opening game 1-0 to Switzerland with them entering the tournament as favorites, many said they were going to flop, then they just doubled down on tiki taka

When I lived in Spain, my local friends view on that WC win was they won it because they just kept the ball for the entire tournament.

While the European and South American teams haven't really impressed for the most part so far, no-one wins or loses the tournament in the first game and not many teams have looked actively poor.

They did, they won every knockout game 1-0, the final 1-0 after extra time. They were actually a really dull side to watch.

I remember Italian network did somewhat the same in a previous World Cup. It wasn’t water break advert, but split screen with advert sound on and the live match was on mute for 2 minutes.

Herve Renard has had a hell of a career for a former Cambridge United boss.

It wouldn't really be a World Cup without him. It's the sixth different men's national team he's managed with five from Africa, and he also had two spells at Zambia and Saudi Arabia. He also managed the Frence women's team.

People are talking a little more about him and a little less about a poor Uruguay performance. I like the grumpy old sod.

Historically USA have been slightly better than Australia, but really not by that much considering they are probably about 15 time bigger in population, and there domestic league is comfortably better.

That's does seem like a strange dig from Grella (who was an absolutely bang average player) you'd probably take it, if it was from Clint Dempsey or Landon Donovan.

She was in goal when the Lionesses played New Zealand at the 2011 World Cup as well as when Team GB played them at the 2012 Olympics (A match I remember watching).

On one hand I don't think The US have any idea what they've got themselves into with a Sledging match with Australia, But on the other hand its like if Port Vale had beef with Shrewsbury Town.
