ITV here in England rejected if. Instead during Spain v Cape Verde we had Emma Hayes during tactical advice on a whiteboard.
It probably got somewhat ignored that Spain had Morata and Joselu involved in their Euro 2024 winning squad. They both offer a different type of directness that might be lacking now.
In the four years since his debut he has never even scored for them and I think he’s only ever started one game out of his eight in total. So, I don’t think that is adequate cover for what they have lost.
Spains group look like the group with the worst teams in the WC so far. 120 minutes played and no goals.
Everyone was predicting a Uruguay win but I knew Saudi Arabia would go in front. Uruguay just aren't very good
Asian teams are dominating the WC so far, 5 matches played, 3 wins, 2 draws, no losses. If this result stands.
Skys are getting greyer by the minute. I wonder, if the match is suspended after 65 min. When they continue, will they still have the cooling break after 67 min? I am sure they will ...
Have to say. I think the refereeing has generally been quite good A lot less annoying that the average Premier League match
Uruguay looked good to me! Spain may have more trouble scoring if Saudi plays for the 0-0 as well as Cabo Verde did. I could see Uruguay beat Cabo Verde while Spain pick up another draw.
I could also see Cape Verde bunker and get a draw again… then play for the win against Saudi Arabia. That group is tight as hell.
He's 33 and hardly Van Basten, but he's a serviceable La Liga striker who should be more than good enough to lead the line against Cape Verde. Otherwise, why is he even in the squad.
