That Stadium looks like an aircraft hanger.

There's another 4 or 5 goals in this for Germany if they want it.

Another ex England youth player scores to tonight. I wonder how many times we could say this during this World Cup.

He'd definitely be back up to Bellingham

Whatever the final score, I'll give Curacao far more credit than South Africa, as regardless of their limitations they've actually tried to play

Would we rather play Panama first or last? Germany playing the easiest team in the group could either backfire or be to their advantage

Germany don't look that great at the back.

If Germany and France both win their groups they’d be projected to meet in the round of 16. The Germans would probably be better off finishing 2nd.

This game reminds me of England's 6-2 win against Iran

Under Nagelsman they're always consistent at pounding poor sides.

There's also the 6-1 rout of Panama in 2018

I applaud them for having a go at it but South Africa have a better chance of qualifying given their goal difference. At this rate Curacao will have to get four points in their next two games.

Yeah its very typical of the kind of comment you often hear from certain African countries. But I often think this kind of behaviour is merely a reflection of the despair many of their fans feel towards their own country/federations.

When this kind of behaviour (even from the federation president) is so normalised, then the level of corruption and collapse in confidence towards their domestic ecosystem, must be so bad, that many of them have probably 'given up' on the idea of ever producing elite home grown teams. Which explains why their fans act that way (even the president).

I never seen him wing. My guess is it would be very much like having Foden there.

A bit of a farce that game. Didn’t feel any different to a pre-season game.

I don't think Curacao have a hope in hell of getting a win in this group regardless.

Still, I think its a bit naive to go on a world cup stage and play like that with their sides limitations. Maybe at the start ok, but 3-1 down at half time they should have battoned down the hatches. I don't think a team losing 7-1 "just happy to be there" is a good advertisement for the expanded tournament.

Germany looked good and hungry at least, as poor as Curacao defended they never let up and were pretty relentless about it.

In recent world cups, we usually had just the one team (and sometimes zero) who caused an upset in the knockouts.
My eyes may be deceiving me. But in this WC there's far too many strong teams spread out, that it's likely we'll see more than one 'distruptor' this time.

We have the teams who're all capable of beating anyone on a good day:
    Spain
    Argentina
    France
    England
    Brazil
    Portugal
    Holland
    Germany

Then the teams who're are ranked slightly below - but could beat anyone:
    Morocco
    Norway
    Croatia
    Belgium

Plus there's a whole bunch of teams where I'm honestly undecided, but if the right version turns up in the knockouts, I can see them possibly causing an upset:
    USA (host advantage)
    Mexico (host advantage)
    Uruguay
    Switzerland
    Senegal
    Japan
    Colombia
    Ecuador
    Austria
