Umeh for Ireland looks way off this level yet. He's only 18 and hasn't even broken into the benfica first team
Maybe I'm being too political but if the USA creates a situation where Iran basically has to forfeit all their games then I would be well up for England just boycotting the tournament. Absolutely scandalous and cannot be allowed to happen.
FIFA will expand the use of AI at the World Cup to reduce the amount of abusive messages that teams and players are exposed to on social media - The Guardian Steve Clarke hopes to invite broken-hearted Billy Gilmour to return to Scotland's World Cup camp in the United States - Daily Record
Why should England pull out. It should be FIFA putting pressure on Trump about Iran, not the other teams. Maybe they should revoke his peace prize.
2 hour delay yesterday during Saudi Arabia v Puerto Rico due to lightning. Couid be some lengthy stoppages with the USA’s strict rules on it Suspect if there are too many FIFA will hoping Trump overturns the advice mid tournament https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/articles/c5yz3p6vjd1o

On why he called up Ouédraogo over El Mala, Nagelsmann said the latter didn't train since the end of the season 2.5 weeks ago, his last game was on 16 May. On the other hand, Ouédraogo did a tour in South Africa with Leipzig after the end of the season and played until 29 May.… pic.twitter.com/Z2y5kubUSx— Bayern & Germany (@iMiaSanMia) June 6, 2026 @GermanBlade Your thoughts on Nagelsman’s argument,
Can't really comment on the injury situation but even then why not Adeyemi imstead. Guess every nation has a grudge against some of the selected players.

Watching the game right now and I'm surprised so many people are quite low on the US's chances. They're a flawed team but they clearly know what they're good at and they play to their strengths. I think they'll beat Turkey and top their group. Might surprise a few in this tournament.
Chances of what? I think most people have them finishing first or second in there group, beyond that I think they’ll go out to the first elite team they play, and that might be anywhere between the last 32 and quarters.
Yeah I'm not at all saying they're a contending team but I've seen a lot of fatalism and predictions of a premature exit from the previews I've listened to. Most of it seems to be based on their March friendlies.

It's only really been in these warm-up games that they've looked anything other than garbage to be fair. But that often happens with hosting teams I think. Germany looked awful until they got to the Euros too.
I find it ironic that the USA are playing Germany on the anniversary of D-Day at Soldier Field in Chicago of all places. The stadium is named in honour of U.S. soldiers who died in combat who fought the Germans during World War I.
