Even Unai Simon is smashing the ball up now, surely Spain just keep the ball now.

Edit - seeing Spain knocking it about, it's so sad how we would be putting it upfield with 10 behind the ball in this position

In glad Argentina lost, but how sad is it looking at Pedri, Yamal, Torres etc just looking happy but hardly ecstatic.

Xavi, Casillas etc look like they couldn't give a *** in the crowd. They are just so used to winning

Spain haven't even played particularly well, and still completely dominated the worst team to reach a World Cup final.

The best bit about this is that it was Enzo that cost them the game.

Yamal seems so either overwhelmed or not really fussed. Torres was adorable through when he relaxed the ehaifle and gone.

Really it’s 3 euros. The 1960’s and 1970’s euros are pretty much like the Nations League in format.

Frightening for the future that Spain have won this world cup at a canter with Lamine Yamal impacted by injuries and doing little, Pedri off form, and Nico Williams injured for most of it.

So far ahead of everyone else, and yes France are with everyone else on this. They've just broke the record for games undefeated too.

Who's surprised that Paredes is at the centre of all the post final whistle shenanigans?

Pretty low quality game tbh. Spain/France are the two best teams in the world right now, Argentina snuck in thanks to a kind draw.

I think the 2010 Spain team and 2014 Germany team and plenty of the previous WC winners prior to that are comfortably above this current Spain team, it's just the lack of quality elsewhere.

Argentina are dirty sorry losers and seeing them crying on the pitch outweighs the sadness of seeing Spain win

They need to find a serviceable centre forward really, and they'll be set.
We're not talking a Kane or a Haaland, either. Just someone who can play the role and chip in with goals.

That's the third time Argentina's lost a World Cup final 1-0

    1990, 2014, 2026.

    Second time they lost 1-0 AET (2014 & 2026).

Most pre-tournament prediction models had Spain as favorite and they proved to be correct.

Spain were also rans in the women game as well, and are now current World Champions in both genders. Also both are #1 in FIFA rankings.

And they'll be co-hosting next World Cup in 2030 where you'd expect the likes of Unai Simon, Joan Garcia, Cubarsi, Gavi, Pedri, Baena, Nico Williams, Ferran Torres and Yamal to still be around. Very good chance of being the first nation to retain the title since Brazil in 1958-62.

Seeing Spain win their 5th trophy in 18 years shows how behind we are from the big nations. We're not a big football nation. It's soul destroying watching everyone else win while we settle for mediocrity

Is there a bigger "can give it but can't take it" nation than these lot?

They're more than happy to dish it out when things go their way but can't control their emotions when it comes back at them.

Juvenile, low IQ bone heads. I'd be so embarrassed if our squad were made up of characters like this.

That's the thing. For those on here how are worrying about what happens post Kane..

Do you even need a center forward ?

Bit of a difference from how the French and English players behaved yesterday.
