Diving in your own penalty area is a strange choice. Refs won't expect it.

 

What's the point of VAR if it doesn't ask the ref to review that?

The way I see it is as follows:

France are probably the best team at this tournament, however they chose to have an absolute stinker against Spain. Possibly the worst performance of this world cup from a good team.

England dragged through the tournament and as soon as we scored against Argentina we shit the bed and Tuchel screwed up massively, handing them a win and further bragging rights.

Argentina are bang average and have scraped through most games, apart from against us they have looked poor. Still pissed me off how we made them look like a 1970s Brazil in the final 20 minutes.

Spain are very good and have the best midfield. Without Yamal in 100% form they are pretty toothless though and have scraped through games despite dominating. It's annoying because if you can create a few high quality chances you are always in the game against them, hence I always thought if we got through we'd have a chance.

But I'll say again, Argentina are bang average and it's so annoying watching them today seeing how Tuchel managed that game.

 

Of course a perfectly good Spain goal is disallowed.

 

No way the ref saw his foot being stood on. He saw him fall over and assumed it was a foul.

 

How has that not been reviewed? Once again VAR does absolutely nothing against Argentina. It is beyond suspicious at this point frankly how VAR CONSTANTLY is in favour of Argentina. Not a single intervention against them and a whole bunch in favour.

 

Probably 3-1 on pens or something daft like that.

Unfortunately I think the rivalry and hatred they have for us probably drags them up a level when they play us. Every other game they've been really poor including today.

If they win today it would have to be the worst team to win the WC IMO.

 

Please do also note that despite having 10 men against a far superior team to who we played, Argentina have left a striker on the half way line unlike Tuchel claiming Kane playing in our defensive third was normal for a low block.

 

Spain are going to bottle this
