Check how well the economy is doing in Argentina. Interest in the Falklands is usually inversely proportionate to that.

Pretty much. When I visited Argentina 12 years ago the exchange rate was ~7 pesos = $1. Today it’s ~1475.

Also conveniently forgotten is that the Falklands War was started by a junta that “disappeared” or killed ~25000 of its citizens in the 9 years it was in power.

Yes, but apparently the 5 people and 10,000 penguins who live there are all England supporters. So we need to have their backs in case Argentina tries something again.

Spain are just a more refined version of the Argentina tactics. Kind of funny that they are fearful of a referees approach.

He’s not wrong though to be fair, for some reason the referring has been very favourable towards Argentina, that first half against us and many others from previous games.

Spain do the same stuff and they dive more than Argentina they are very sneaky with how they make dirty tackles. The reality is there is no "fair" way to play the game. Everyone ignores the stuff their team does. The ref is there to manage the game the players are not there to self police themselves. Tactical fouling can be intelligent it can also backfire.

If Spain are thinking about this now that is a red flag. We have to remember they have never faced Argentina in their modern era. We will see how they like their own medicine.

Spain mostly matched up with European sides in 2010 and 2026 when they have won knock out games. Since 2010 they struggled with sides outside Europe losing to Chile Japan drawing with Morocco 2018 and then losing to Morocco 2022 on penalties.

In 2026 they tied with Cabo Verde and beat Uruguay 1-0 but they struggled more against Uruguay than any other team since. Then they had an all european run with Austria Portugal Belgium France.

Can someone explain to me when FIFA have this strong ( supposedly) stance on political views not to be involved in football and against Argentina supposedly being sanctioned for their banner against us the other night. What right does the US government have to give Argentina permission to do the same again in a football competition. I know obviously this is on US territory and you can do what you want there but if it’s against FIFA rules and regulations then aren’t they going against FIFA’s wishes.

It’s basically a threat from the USA administration to say to FIfA we will cause trouble for you if you domt do what we say.

I really hope Spain then also displays some kind of anti-Trump banner in response. I wonder if Andrew Giuliani would be equally as supportive since it’s freedom of speech right….

Every Country could literally have some kind of protest banner and if FIFA allow this tonight then they have no back up to say it’s ok for Argentina but not for any other Country.

The Spanish federation would be divided over that. From what I’ve read quite a lot of them are connected to fhe political parties who criticised Yamal when he waved a Palestine flag at Barcelona’s flag.

We got that after the Spain beat us at the Euros but it wouid be very bitter for them to talk about
    Gibraltar tonight.

I’m sure at Euro 2028 if they make a knockout match they will celebrate like it’s Millennium Eve,

It's a very true comment though.

They will never celebrate finishing 3rd at the World Cup.
