Hopefully FIFA just wanted to have the four top ranked teams in the semis, and were willing to use refs/VAR to nudge things in that direction. Then from the semis they just let it play out without interference.
Just been on l'équipe and the player ratings part of the site has a picture of Olise on it with Who disappointed you written over the top of it.
I hope so but I fear they think Spain v Argentina (Yamal v Messi) is more appealing worldwide than Spain v England. Through if we make it President Trump will be backing us he hates Spain more.
Spain v England would be massive. Don't underestimate how big Bellingham of Real Madrid v Spain is all on its own. Add in Harry Kane of Bayern Munich and Tuchel of Germany. Plus the Premier League players are the most watched around the world. England is a fantastic story. A better story than Spain. Also a few hours ago people would have said they want Mbappe v Messi part 2. Yamal isn't on the same superstar level as Mbappe yet. Maybe it just isn't fixed?
The names chosen for the Basterds were actually Quentin Tarantino's "easter egg" tributes to real-world Italian directors:• Enzo Gorlomi (Aldo Raine): A play on Enzo G. If England beat Argentina the last Euro and World Cup finals in both the men’s and women’s game will have been England vs Spain.
I suppose there's a touch of schadenfreude with Olise failing to turn up in the quarter-final or semi-final. Some were talking him up for the Ballon D'or earlier in the tournament! That would have to smart a bit for any of us England fans on here.
Heard (mainly by the people around me) and read complaints about Spqin playing boring football apparently. Hard disagree; for me they're playing the best and most attractive football of any team this World Cup. It's probably still the stereotype of the old Spain before LDLF shining through in these comments.
I think Spain at the moment a refined taste. If you like their style they matches are good but if you find that style boring or just want some entertainment they do not provide that. Cape Verde was their most exciting match!
Their matches have been a mixed bag in terms of entertainment. I can understand people being disappointed with the Portugal match because we were all hoping for a classic. It takes two teams to make a game. If Spain's opponents sit deep and condense the play you shouldn't blame Spain it the match is boring. Obviously people do. Yesterday Spain were enjoyable to watch.
